I need to have the relationship talk with a fourteen year old

She's probably too busy with her dolls. A mature 14 year old looks like a woman and is to be admired-- but that's it.

 

And like I said the changes that happen between 14 and 20 are immense physically, psychologically and intellectually. What do you suppose is going to happen when you want to go to the bar and she can't go in. This is also the period when most little girls learn to play mind games.

I think it's kind of weird when men talk about wanting to take a girls virginity. You really want bad sex are you fucking stupid.

Simple fact is this; a 14 yo is not emotionally mature enough to make a decsion to have sex with a 20 year old...no matter what she thinks. If she chooses a kid her own age thats one thing and even then the Law can consider the boy as being explotive. I know its not necessarily fair that the boy gets the rap but thats how it happens...I see it every day. For a 20 year old to even kiss or fondle, to send sexually explict messages is grounds for a serious sex offence felony. Again, I don't make the laws and a lot of the laws are just plain fucked up. I do see these guys on a daily basis, in their late teens to early 20's and a sex offender record that will haunt them for the rest of their lives. Moral/Immoral doesn't matter. What matters is when that electronic door slams shut behind you and you look at your new "Cellies" wondering how "loving" someone got you in prison. I hear horror stories that make it hard to sleep sometimes. The law is what it is...don't fuck around and get busted, you got no idea how horrible and frightening it is.

On a differnet level several of you have noted that the emotional diference between 14 and 20 is huge. For a 20 year old guy to feel emotionally equivilent to a 14 year old sets off alarm bells. Thank God the OP is seeing a therapist, I hope to hell he listens for the sake of both himself and the 14 year old kid. Wonder what happened to him at age 14?

in every case i've told the minor something like this, "i like you too and, i'm honored that, you would like to share yourself with me however, i'm sorry but i can't do it, i don't want to spend the next 20 years in the state pen. if you still feel this way for me when you enter majority then, if things can work that way for us, we will take it from there."

yeah i said she was 16 because I wanted to have a conversation not just get grilled.

God her parent's might be angry, they are defiantly not happy, I'm going to call them tomorrow and arrange to meet with them....ugh that's going to be awkward they like me more or less before this became a situation.

Hannah, their daughter, I think is really starting to like me from what I hear through the telephone game.
