has anyone used bacardi 151 as a solvent in a extraction procedure? how safe is it to take something extracted from 4 shots dried out into a thin film? i ask because i dont know what else is in bacardi 151 other than alcohal or whether its safe to have in concentrated amounts by itself (after all even many sodas have highly poisonous additives that would be dangerous by themselfs and they DONT make you pass out to keep you from drinking to much). has anyone tried drying out four shots of bacardi 151 and consuming the residue?
well think aboiut it, it cant be much worse than drinkning 4 shots of barcardi? and thats perfectly safe
well, not every state will sell 190 proof ethanol OTC... but most states will sell, 151 proof vodka (which is at least clear, rather than brown, mmmmm?) the colors in rum are prolly carmelized sugars... there's prolly some side-volatiles, (other alcohols, maybe some lotones or aldhydes) which will evap long before the residual water dries out... go with 151 vodka, young grasshopper (or tell the state store guy to special-order some everclear - you want to purchase some food-grade ethanol (190 proof) for ummmm, perfume-making, that's the ticket...)
