As I sit here watching "The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show", I can't help but think of all the other classic cartoons that used to be on when I was a kid.

The main one that comes to mind is "My Pet Monster". I used to love that show, every time it was on, I would sit in front of the tv, totally absorbed lol

When I see the cartoons kids are watching today (thanks to the satellite dish) :), it makes me miss the classics even more.

Would anyone else like to share their favorite cartoons of the early-mid 90's?

Cow and Chicken, Rocko's modern life, Ren and Stimpy is all i can think of now.

Oh yea, Beavis and Buthead. Some of these might have come from the 80's.

Although they were already old when I was young; I miss the old classics like speed racer, kimba, and the mighty hercules; which I watched until I started kindergarten :(

The Pink Panther makes me miserable. I love the old ones, and the new ones are shit to such a point they make me angry.

    Cartoons are not the same.

When I saw "classic" I thought of Betty Boop, Popeye, Felix the Cat, Merry Melodies, Looney Tunes, etc.
This was the golden age of toons, when different studios battled against each other with all of their resources and talent in a new art form.
Get some old Betty Boop or silent Felix the Cat (with his magic tail) and notice the surreal story lines and art work, what kind of drugs were these people on? Strange cartoons.

The 1930's Popeye cartoons by Max Fleischer are brilliant. Popeye was originally in a cartoon strip before he was given a bit part in a Betty Boop cartoon. Fleischer's grubby New York work was a study in contrast to Disney's wow and glitter. He even invented a 3d camera for shooting backgrounds that look fantastic. There are remastered editions on classiccartoondvd.com that are the best popeye dvds ever available. They even include some Out of The Ink Well shorts that introduced Rotoscoping to cartoons. This is a technique of filming live actors and then tracing over the film frame by frame to make the cartoons. By hand.

And let's not forget Crazy Cat and Ignacious Mouse.

Any body know what I'm talking about here?

I like Tom & Jerry, Looneytoons, bugs bunny, and roadrunner. Oh yeah, and Johnny Bravo, but i donno if you'd consider that classic.

I miss the GOOD/UNEDITED cartoons from the 30s thru the 70s!!

I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!! -- Cartoon network is now filled with more garbage than good stuff (And Boomerang is slowly falling into that category as well :())

    "PORK CHOP SAMMICHES!!!"

My little brother showed me that a few years back. I still laugh watching that though.

"Holy sh*t!!! Get the f*ck out you little idiots!!" Or whatever he said! That's classic.

I loved transformers and GI Joe. Road runner, bugs bunny and Tom & Jerry.

Know what's funny, though? I don't really remember anything from GI Joe or transformers. Since the movies came out a couple of years ago, my friends were talking about them and the characters and such, and I don't remember any of it. I had the toys, I watched the cartoons and all, but now, no memory. Kinda sucks.

I dated a girl in middle school. We rode the bus home together. She was a tiny toons fanatic. It was kinda funny, she would go nuts if we were gonna be late. Like one time the bus broke, she was so pissed. Funny.

I loved this Canadian cartoon called (Stop) The Smoggies. It was all about these happy little troll/smurf like things stopping these crazy polluters. Very relevant and I miss it dearly. Also Teddy Ruxpin, The Racoons, Felix the Cat, The Rescue Rangers. OH, and of course Captain Planet!
