It's pretty much legal there already. Anyone can get a MM card for any reason. There are already more dispensaries in LA than Mcdonald's and Starbucks combined. And if anything the prices have gone up with the increase in availability. It's still more cheap there than anywhere else in the country, but I just don't see the prices fluctuating very much based on the past trends of increased supply. The market's already open there and has been for 10+ plus years. The MM laws are so loose that making it legal really won't change much, it'll be more of a technicality.

I don't smoke because it's illegal. It being illegal is very inconvenient and burdensome.

you get a thrill out of smoking weed cause its illegal?

get involved with graffiti or something, that ensures encounters with police. maybe join an anarchist group and cause riots at protests........but dont smoke weed for the thrill of it being illegal, thats an insignificant crime. Whats so exciting about getting your weed taken from you....maybe a ride to the station....

you have good points, but i have friends that travel to cali a few times a year for harvest work and from what they are telling me, if it becomes legal to grow without a license, the market is going to bust wide open and cali weed will flood the US because it will be cheaper than what we can get here from canada or colorado

Another thing, remember practical legal doesn't make it legal. Let's take a look at how the law is still applied in California in an extremely racist way. Marijuana prohibition is probably among the most racist laws in the books due to the very wide discretion officers have in whether arresting you, giving you a ticket, or just taking your weed and telling you not to do it again.

Not to mention the violence it can cut down on in Mexico. Cartels make a very large amount of money from the importation of marijuana.

I imagine you would still need a license to grow large amounts, the same you would to produce large amounts of beer or liquor. Cali weed always has and always will flood the country, I live in Colorado and we still get flooded with weed from Cali.

Nothing personal man, but that's a ridiculous statement. We should keep it illegal so that we can be cooler than we would be if it were legal? Come on...

That's high school mentality imo. The "cool kids" smoke weed.

BEHOLD!!! Someone who is still enjoying the novelty of smoking an illegal herb.

People who respect and appreciate marijuana for what it is want nothing more than for it to be universally accepted for it's possible benefits, as well as it's recreational benignity. Anyone else is just selfish and/or ignorant.

you can't just "refer" to recreational smokers though because prop 19 would affect ALL smokers, recreational or not. while medical marijuana is legal in california, that requires a doctor's visit and recommendation. now while i admit i'm ignorant about how much these doctor's visits costs in california and whether or not they have free clinics, i will say that with my health insurance (which is pretty damn good) the copay for a office visit is $100. it's worth noting that california has a very high unemployment rate. i think you can put two and two together.

with legalized weed not only will the price of marijuana drop, but it would also not require a doctor's visit which is expensive with health insurance, nevermind without.

We don't need it at all but it still manages to find it's way here. Just goes to show cali's extent as a supplier to the other 49 while it's still "illegal" there.

In all honesty, I'll grow my own weed even when it's illegal and I will also grow my own weed when it is legalized. I don't agree with the punishment and suffering people have to endure when they get "caught" and I also don't agree with the mass production of a powerful medicinal and spiritual plant for money, in the black market or in a corporate market.

    those are my two cents.....

decriminalize, don't legalize. make it like a seatbelt violation if you are caught smokin it. 10 bucks, have a nice day.

rack up enough of em and pay $30+ or somethin

it's 'decriminalized' in my college town but it doesn't stop em from arresting me and handing me to the county jail.
