Hot Wheels TV Batmobile Has any die-cast car in recent memory generated the excitement and enthusiasm and yes, frustration that this car has? This car has been on everyone's wish list for quite some time, and Hot Wheels has finally made it happen. As exciting as it was to get the regular release, an even BETTER version came out in October of 2008. Available exclusively through the Hot Wheels Collectors Club, this version has incredible detail, as well as a metal base. Although the Redline wheels aren't exactly TV-accurate, they sure look great on this car. I can't help but rank this car as my favorite in my entire collection. 2. Johnny Lightning's The Munsters Koach Johnny Lightning's Munsters Koach is among the most detailed and accurate 1:64 scale die-cast Hollywood cars I have ever seen. ERTL/Racing Champions also made a Munster's Koach, but it's inferior next to this version. 3. Johnny Lightning's General Lee Well, collectors FINALLY have the General Lee they've been waiting for. There have been plenty of versions of The General in the past, but all pale in comparison to this version, included in Johnny Lightning's third release of cars from The Dukes of Hazzard. It has the push bar in front and an interior roll cage. I'm surprised it doesn't play Dixie at the push of a button. The wheels aren't perfect, but they're close. This is the best General Lee in 1:64 scale to-date.
4. Hot Wheels Ecto-1 In 2009, when Mattel announced it would be releasing Ecto-1 as part of its basic Hot Wheels line, fans went into a frenzy. They turned out to be more difficult to find than the '66 Batmobile when IT hit stores. Then Mattel announced it would be releasing an exclusive Comic Con version. This version replaces Johnny Lightning's Ecto-1A on this list. The details, like the white wall tires, make this a Ghostbusters fan's dream-come-true. It's just unfortunate that those of us who couldn't attend Comic Con in 2010 have to pay scalper prices to get one. 5. Charawheels Back to the Future Delorean Although it was only available in Japan, it's fairly easy to get online. This Charawheels version of the Delorean time machine from Back to the Future edges out Johnny Lightning's version. Both versions are highly detailed and accurate, both have Mr. Fusion, but only the Charawheels version has movie-accurate wheels. 6. Hot Wheels Movie Batmobile Mattel's 100% Hot Wheels' version of the 1989 Batmobile is a beautiful piece. Although not entirely movie-accurate, I love the gold accents. It was Mattel's first release after obtaining the Batman license and it hinted at all the amazing Batman releases Mattel would put out over the past few years. 7. Charawheels Mach 5 There have been many 1:64 scale die-cast versions of the Mach 5 from the cartoon Speed Racer. All are fairly similar. All are based on one of the coolest cars ever designed. But one thing sets the Charawheels version apart: the wheels. Again, it was only available in Japan, but it can be found online for fairly reasonable prices.
8. JL Bandit Trans-Am There have been many POOR versions of the classic Trans-Am from the movie Smokey & the Bandit. ERTL and Matchbox failed miserably trying to portray this car in 1:64 scale decades ago. ERTL did a very nice version as part of its Racing Champions line, but they got the interior wrong. With Johnny Lightning and RC2 combining efforts, this version included in Hollywood on Wheels 6 is the definitive version of the Bandit Trans-Am. The wheels aren't 100% accurate, but they sure are nice. My hat is off to this effort. Nice job. 9. Corgi Jr. Lotus Submarine Once upon a time, Corgi Jr. set the standard when it came to die-cast cars based on TV and movie cars. Among the great cars they produced was this version of the Lotus Esprit Submarine from the movie The Spy Who Loved Me. A great, unique casting of one of the most memorable movie cars of all time. Rolling wheels on the bottom and the red 007 tampo are its only minor flaws. 10. Corgi Jr. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang The fold out wings and the figures make this car one of the best ever. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is one of the most recognizable movie cars ever and one of the most beautiful. What keeps this car from being higher on the list is the inaccurate colors on the wings and wheels. This version is one of the most valuable and highly sought-after 1:64 die-cast cars, but you can now find a newer, more affordable version without the figures.
Matchbox cars were way more cooler I think. Hot wheels looked flash but they were all fake unrealistic cars IMO.
I had #9 for about a week before it was stolen from me. If you have alot of cash, I know someone, who knows someone that has the mold for the (real) Batmobile. He can make you a copy, but it costs alot. He took his copy to work one day and the general contractor made him take it away because everyone was looking at it instead of working. And he said people get pissed at car shows cuz his gets all the attention.
hah I was nuts with hotwheels, I had 5 of the ones on that list. Not in their box or anything though, I played with em. I had found out some of em were worth money and went looking for them. My mom had cleaned out the basement a few months prior and threw em out :\
ERTL cars were lighter, Mostly plastic chassis .. I have a smokey and the bandit set, and dukes of hazard set in ERTL..

^ holyyy shitt i totally had that when i was a kid! i used to use sidewalk chalk to make a start and finish line and race other kids hotwheels.. i always picked the toilet one.. good weight on the back end, and was pretty good about staying straight once you launched it.
srsly.. I used to make a habit of buying them.. but i dont go to the store all that much now. kmart is where ive bought alot of them.. Think I have that post with mystery car.. lol. .
