From the Beginning to the End — an Back Again

A Sorta Scientific Description of a Religious Event (or the other way around)

PART1
The Earth

I. Before the beginning, there was chaos.

Something Uncertain happened, and the beginning began.

Chaos split in half; on one side was energy, and on the other entropy.

Energy shattered into the forces known to science, an possibly inexplicable others.

Entropy began “gathering toward Chaos” in the form of time/space/gravity and all its attributes.

Thusly was the Universe born.

And though it all, Uncertainty remained supreme.


II. The tendency toward Chaos over shadowed all:

Gravity caused acceleration, which increased Entropy.

Movement through space required changes in energy potential, increasing Entropy.

The passage of time ensured radio-active decay, increasing Entropy.

The totality of Entropy achieved is where the path of Existence leads; the end, as the beginning, shall be Chaos.

With Uncertainty.


III Within the time of existence, of the many things that come to pass, matter forms and collects into hydrogen.

Gravity gathers the hydrogen as it must to increases entropy.

The forces of the Universe combine to ignite through fusion and a star begins to shine.

Entropy increases many fold.

Within the star, energy is produced beyond the need for entropy, and used to organize complex matter—from aluminum to zinc.

As is the end with all, the processes at work may cease with violence or repose.

If repose, it is than the result be localized Entropic Near-totality, and the star ceases all but the smallest presence.

If violence be the end, the complex matter of the stars body spreads through space, to meet and form more stars, the chemicals of life, and, among many other things, small rocky planets.

Foremost among them the planet Earth.


PART 2

I. The exploded matter of the first stars, designated for historical reasons of man as population II stars, gathers to form population I stars, alike but not identical to themselves.

The star man calls Sol, which shines upon the earth, is thusly born of the life and death of another, with the inevitable change of time.

With the inexorable pull of Gravity and the turbulence of Uncertainty, other masses gained existence and gathered matter to themselves.

Yet the turbulence that would become Sol, the Sun, was far, far the Gravatic master of it’s domain.

As mass gathered mass, energy was released in levels above that required by Entropy through the mechanism of Energy Conversion.

Energy may not be destroyed; existence is real.

Yet the Energy of motion may translate abruptly into the Energy of heat.

And thus it was with all the matter of the birthing solar system.


II. At the center, the grand turbulence gained Gravatic potential to dwarf the Energy potential of moving masses.

It gathered to the center and smashed the atoms of the elements themselves, until the electron was broken from the bond of the proton.

Some of the electrons were driven into the proton nuclei, wherein the positive electrical Energy of the proton battled the negative electrical Energy of the proton to a stand-still. And thusly a neutron is created.

A neutron speeding from a star is an expression of the Energy known as cosmic rays.

Other protons were smashed against one another with such Energy of motion that they fell within the realm of Energy expressed as the nuclear forces. One absorbs another, and together they obtain the Energy level of helium—with a touch of Energy in excess. And thusly two events are initiated; the beginnings of the build-up in complexity of elements and the release of Energy expressed as Alpha rays, Beta rays, and Gamma rays, along with the photons man calls light.

And the sun begins to shine.

Man calls this fusion.


III. The Energy density of the small turbulence that was the seeding of the Earth was such that the elements of its mass melted with absorption.

As Energy cannot be destroyed, it exist as angular momentum, the spin of existence.

The spin of existence was multiplied and dived with the smallest collisions of gathering mass.

Collectively, the mass becoming the world began to spin, even as it heated-up.

The Energy of heat and angular momentum overcame the gravatic attraction of the mass to itself, and fusion could not begin.

The heavy elements sunk to the center of the melted spinning mass. Thusly the earth has an iron-nickel core.

Entropy, as always, applied, and the spinning mass of the Earth began to cool.

And then a low-probability event occurred.

An excess of energy engulfed the crust of the new earth, and a section was broken away against the pull of gravity.

Light elements of the crust alone were thrown to space; yet the inexorable forces maintained mastery and no escape was possible. Thusly the moon was formed.

The light elements of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, aluminum, and silicon and others along with many molecular combinations floated to the top and cooled, encasing and crushing the core, trapping much of the heat inside. Thusly does water float on rock, and thusly does a volcano gain it’s energy and expulsions.

The lightest elements of all, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon-dioxide, methane, argon, and others, surrounded the cooling earth at a gaseous density and became the atmosphere. Many elemental combinations occurred under the auspices of excess Energy. Foremost among them was water, which filled the gaps on land and in the air. And the oceans and the rains began.
