If I have time, then I smoke with them, but I never give them extra money. If I had enough money to tip them, then I would just use that money to buy more weed.
Yeah, general rule of thumb around here is to sit around and let them smoke a spliff of the stash you collected from them. If you want to give people a tip I am sure they wouldn't mind, but would probably think you're a bit of an idiot.
A pot dealer isn't providing service, like a waiter or a bellhop. He's running a sales business. Tipping would not be appropriate. Now, if I am having to have a friend stop by their guy's house to pick up a bag for me, and I know he's not adding anything to the price or pinching a bud, I'll I'll turn him on to a bowl full for his trouble...and I expect the same treatment in return for a favor.
Only when I've gotten delivery service. It's usually the opposite, like once, it was $65 and all I had was three 20s and a 10 and he didn't have a 5 so I was like "just owe me" - he said nah and just took the $60. While I'm there he generally will roll a fatty from his own stash... then pack a bowl... then roll another, and so on. I'm never quite sure where the cutoff point of proper buyer-dealer relationship etiquette is, haha. I usually stay and smoke until I'm too baked to drive, then chill and BS another 20 minutes, then bounce.
Back in the day it was customary to give a person some if they acted as middleman. I remember one time I scored two pounds for a guy and he gave me less than a stinking quarter for my hour drive. Usually an ounce was offered for transactions that large. Needless to say next time he called I had no idea where to score. The last time I picked up some for myself I gave my supplier a hit of Lucy. I would have regardless though as I've known him for 15 years and he hasn't had Lucy in ages and I was fortunate to acquire some.
more often than not... the dealer should be smoking you up when you buy a bag.. as a sorta "thanks come again".. now i dont expect them to do it... but i was always that way if someone stopped by and had time.. i would smoke a bowl or joint with them
I agree, like I said, my dude smokes me up with multiple jays/bowls just about every time. It's good salesmanship ...I guess it helps that I'm his best friend's girlfriend and my bf doesn't smoke, so more bud for me.
Yeah it should definitely be the other way around, you go to the dealer's house and they offer you some weed since just about every legitimate weed dealer out there get's free smoke besides the cash they make, otherwise they probably wouldn't bother with the risk of selling.
More often than not, the people I buy from are middlemen. You know....like someone at work who says they can get you a sack from his/her dealer. In those situations, it is customary to smoke a joint or something with them. Usually, they match whatever I contribute and we throw in on a blunt. When I'm buying from an actual dealer, I'm not as compelled to smoke with them.
I usually go through middleman so its usually they want u to smoke them a bowl or match them generally i will only match them considering they are skimping it be4 they give it to u already.
The last dealer I had when I smoked was an old roommate, I tipped him when I would share my $5 pizzas and spicy chicken wings.
