lol I was wondering where this thread disappeared to. I didn't realize it had been stickied. Awesome.
Yeah I'd smoke a blunt with Montel. He's definitely one of the best examples of a public figure who benefits from marijuana, as he's pretty "normal" and extremely likeable, by most people's standards.
True, but not enough people are as public about it as Montel. At least, not in as positive of way as he is.
I slam my nuts in the draw once, twice , three times.. only hurts a little... and then I move on... people.. haha ...
Since much of the population remains brainwashed into believing that marijuana is an evil, dangerous drug and politicians play to them... and drug policy still by and large reflects that because they vote... being open about ones own marijuana use carries a certain stigma in certain circles. Testing positive is legal grounds for losing ones employment. Zero tolerance policies ensure that lives are ruined and a few otherwise productive members of society are turned into hardened criminals by one of the most effective tools in training them: the penal system. So a public figure like Montel risks their very livelihood in presenting a real and human facet to marijuana use. Sometimes honesty really isn't the best policy but in this case it seems to have gone off smoothly thus far It does help that he doesn't carry himself like a cliche stoner. Weed should be straight out legalized.
Im all for getting out the gas can, for a huffing party.. woot.. Obama care will save us if we get sick and diez..
I agree totally. It just should be legalized. Even someone with his clout had to time the release of this on his own show as the back lash could of taken his show off the air. They did not air this until right at the end of his shows being aired. He is a credit to the cause and one of the reasons for legalization. Although it should not only be legalized for medicinal. It should be legalized for anyone who is of legal age to use if they wish to.
i agree with what some have said- Montel is probably one of the best medical cannabis spokespersons out there. the movement needs more than Marc Emerys and NORML public smoke fests to get the message across. it's not Montel, but it's another positive model for the cannabis legalization movement. https://www.youtube.com/v/H9fZeMGacFo&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0 Montel has always been one of my heroes. not just because of this, but also because he knows that fine-ass Sylvia Browne chick. nigga needs to hook me up wit dat
What Montel has that is a rarity today in public figures, integrity. He gained a reputation as a man of great integrity by all political camps and arenas long before he ever started using marijuana. It is kind of hard to ignore a man of his reputation when he speaks about something, regardless of ones personal opinion about marijuana. Yes, his show about it was purposely held to the end of his final season because of the fear of negative feedback, but that wasn't Montel's choice.
