    Kia Ora Ni Hao!

At times I wonder what it would feel like, but I don't want to take the risk and try! How would you describe the feeling? Also, is it something that you wish you had not started? If it does become legalized do you think there will be as many "quit marijuana" organizations as there are "quit tobacco" organizations?

    Cheers!

What risk would you be taking in trying it?

like energyofinfinity said, what are you risking?

and if its legalized there would be WAY less people "addicted" compared to alcohol or tobacco. imo alcohol has a bigger addiction factor because it makes people feel social, fun, etc. weed doesnt have that really. it kinda just makes things fun, especially if you're relaxing and you got free time. like u know the phrase "work hard play hard"? well yeah you can get your play on real well with weed. plus it's very stress-relieving. very. its wonderful

I fiercely recommend that you try marijuana, OP.
I don't believe there will be any "quit marijuana" organizations... Once people try Cannabis they will most likely enjoy it and there should be widespread acceptance which would change and this all will start when/if Prop 19 is passed in California

Unless it is legal, you risk getting a criminal record. That means risking job offers, places to live (they always do background checks), money (pay fine), freedom (war on drugs=jail), plus risk getting addicted if it is as enjoyable as everyone says it is. It makes me wonder because people describe it as being better for you than alcohol or tobacco, yet they always say that marijuana feels better. It is hard to comprehend why marijuana is so demonized.

    Cheers!

In most states simple possession of under an ounce is a misdemeanor with a fine similar to a traffic infraction. In California at least you do not have to reveal to prospective employers about any misdemeanor possession charges more than two years old. It may be the same in other States as well.
    Marijuana is NOT addictive.
The sentence in bold makes no fucking sense whatsoever.

"It is hard to comprehend why marijuana is so demonized."
Because of the lack of and suppression of factual information and the ignorance which you are displaying here. My God dude, you have the whole fucking world of information at your fucking fingertips via the internet and yet you remain so utterly ignorant on so many levels.
    You must be a troll.

Oh and check China's drug laws. They are real lenient and understanding.

^damn is it that time of the month? geez lol :chillpill:

you only get in some kind of trouble if you have dealer amounts, about an ounce or so. if you're getting just 20$ worth from a dealer, which is what i've always done, its such a petty crime if you get caught. thats if you get caught. as long as you're not doing it in front of the police department you're not taking that much of a risk. you're 100% safe if you just do it at home. and you just learn lil things in general that'll never get you caught.

only if you get caught with dealer amounts, what they call "intent on selling", will there be something on your background check. as for drug tests for a job, that is one thing people do need to keep in mind. and you'll only go to jail if you have intent on selling.

why is it hard to comprehend that people are ignorant as fuck about weed? its a pretty simple thing

just try it and you'll understand much more. and you can ask any stoner about addiction and you'll hear the same thing. unless the person frickin has been smoking everyday for like 2 years, and they'd feel physical symptoms. no one ever has a problem with not smoking. weed is like chocolate, people LOVE it and thats about the only thing that is addicting.

doing something healthy for your body, mind and soul repeatedly is not called addiction, its called being smart

its like "hey im addicted to relieving all my stress, and completely relaxing, enjoying my time better, sleeping better and waking up the next day feeling better"

Thank you for your response. I admit I am a bit ignorant about it. I don't see how you can do anything with an ounce of something. I have heard people talking about buying it in ounces. An ounce! seems like that would be too little to do anything much with. If you smoke cigs too, which would you personally say is more addictive?

    Cheers!

An ounce of good marijuana would fill a ziplock baggie.

Again, Marijuana is NOT addictive, so a comparison between tobacco and pot concerning addiction is mute. Nicotine is the most addictive substance known, more so than heroin, alcohol, or crack cocaine.

I am finding hard to believe that anyone in this day in America could be that ignorant about pot, especially considering your identification with hippies counter-culture and your frequenting this forum.

Here I go, feeding the troll again.

I would say that you would feel better off never trying marijuana if you feel the same way about sex.

An ounce of weed is 28 grams. If your really close with a dealer he might add a few grams. whenever I pickup on good weight such as an ounce I would usually get 35-40 grams. think of a gram of weed the size of an original handheld earaser which is about 1.2 in long. and imagine 28 of those inside a ziplock bag. a gram of middies (mid-grade weed) is 10$ a gram, a gram of piff (good weed or medical grade indicas and sativas) is 20$ a gram. an ounce ofmiddies is 120$-170$, and an ounce of piff where I'm from is 320$-370$. although I have shwag weed where I'm from and people tend to pay more piff.

I started smoking weed when I was 12. I only have one word of advice for you, tomtongo, keep your smoking to a minimum. There is evidence that would suggest heavy use during adolescence can cause some issues with the development of the endocrine system. A lot of your body is still developing at this time. Your lucky in that you have much, much more valid information available to you then I did at your age.
Don't make the mistakes I did. Keep smoking to occasional use and focus on school and being a teen. Don't allow the drug use to become a central focus in your life like I did. It can have far reaching repercussions.

Not trying to sound like your dad or something, just sharing my experiences.:)

Lung cancer runs in my family. If pot were legal and I were to try it, I would inject a solution of it, chew it, get it via transdermal patch, but there's no way that I am putting smoke in my lungs, not with my genetics.

In reality there is a growing amount of evidence that shows that cannabinoids actually suppress the growth and development of cancerous cells.
A google search will yield lots of info.
Smoking anything will still lead to emphysema and other types of problems.
You can use a vaporizer and eliminate the smoke altogether.
