this is not something i believe but just an interesting thought i had tonight while smoking weed and watching a show on the science channel about time travel and how the only way it would be possible is if there were parallel universes. my thought was that maybe we are living in a parallel universe created by time travelers that went back in the past and visited our ancestors therefore changing history. this would explain why religions around the world are very similar and all talk about higher being that look just like us that give us advice on how they wanted us to live life and made us worship them. if our universe was actually a parallel universe and time travel was created in 2012 our universe could come to an end once its created. this is a similar idea to the plot of the movie donnie darko where almost the whole movie takes place in the alternate dimension that is created once a jet engine travels through time, and the universe of the alternate dimension ends once the jet engine crashes in the alternate universe
All I can say is, why not? Can't prove it or disprove it really. I bet you enjoyed thinking about this though while you were baked as fuck, which is all that really matters!
I was watching a show on NatGeo, or Discovery or something and they were saying in theory its possible, but we dont have the technology. They said if you could go fast enough you could time travel. They used an astronaut who had spend quite a bit of time in space as an example. They said for every hour in space, since the ship was moving so fast he was actually traveling ahead in time fractions of a second. Now he's old, but looks much younger then his age and they say its from all the time he spent in space.
Religions of the world are similar because every culture has come in contact with the same thing. They've all seen volcanos and lava giving the simple understanding that the underworld isn't nice. They've all had contact with the shifting earth plates and ice floods gving them tales of Posiedon and earthquakes and oceanic gods etc. These are the common boundaries that have united cultures. Not parallel universes and time traveling ancestors with jet engines. =\
Interesting stuff and a good mind fuck. But I don't understand how can our universe end? Why...man this time travel concept is fucked up by my understanding for time travel to be possible every second from the very beginning of time itself is some how existing right now. Its like a cartoon 1 individual page represents a state of existing without the frame of reference this is what I think when I think of a parallel universe. 4D is a gallery of frozen states of the universe reality is a pool of infinite possibility's and observing these possibility's in a sequence with reference of other past states of the universe creates an illusion of time only then time travel is possible?
okay, srsly, tho, time travel happens. all the time. just on a really, really tiny scale. take some gases, agitate close to the speed of light, form a plasma, compress the plasma until it rips the universe a new one. quantum-scale wormholes happen all the time. they're just too small for us to use them.
all universes are parallel. there is no beginning universe. every move you make creates a new universe. there is an infinite number of universe constanly being created by every decision you make and every decision you dont make. I believe in these other universes there are such small changes as spilling a glass of milk or it could be as big as hitler conquering the world or at least thats what i believe.
You are travelling to parallel universes every moment, now now now now. It just depends on your inside, how you feel, outside is just outcome
