So i woke up a few weeks ago and had an itch on my arm kinda looked like a blister or a wort, just a little tacker, didnt think much of it. In a few days it grew bigger, thinking it wasent a burn, i was like thats not cool, tho still left it, about a week later it spred to my other arm and more was forming at least five on each arm, so i jumped on google and was like shit man i have ring worm, so that weekend i went to the chemist told them what i had, i got some meds, wrong shit tho after it didnt work the first time, second night i doubble dosed, turns out. They gave me meds for round worm, googled away a bit more, on the next weekend i got some cream, my now larger rings didnt want to go and wouldnt respond to the cream, time to see the doc i thought, i got some good pills off him thanks doc, take two a day, there slowly helping and ill have to say good buy to my friend mr ring worm, still along way to go, thats my story of my ring worm and i, any one else get shit like this frome not being the cleanest?

No, I have never had a ringworm - and considering the amount of contact dermititis I get from most everything from cleaning sprays, poison ivy, Brazilian pepper (a bush here in S. Florida) and in the past few years band aids of all type, I am glad that fungus isn't one of my afflictions.

For those who don't know, ringworm is not a worm but a fungus that grows on the skin, and makes a circular pattern that gets larger the longer it stays. Just the nature of the way many fungi grow, like a mushroom ring on the lawn.

Yeah, I guess not bathing regularly would be conducive to ringworm and athletes foot, but I imagine a warm humid climate would also bring it on like heat rash, caused by candida, another fungus

Oh, you don't want those either. I got a roundworm once (they are very common in India).

Kinda scary to see a 9 inch critter in the toilet - knowing it was living inside ya.

Oh well, just another life experience to get thru. ;)

My daughter had this when she was about 3. We used a cream and it cleared up and did not ever come back. She was the only one who got it.

We had pets at the time but she did not catch it from them and they made the elimination call that it probably came from infected sand, most likely a sandbox.

It was horrible to look at but did respond well to treatment. She only had one ring on the top of her foot.

I hope yours clears up soon and it does not happen to you again. :)

I've had to deal with Tinea Versicolor for years - a fungus that grows on dry areas of the skin - will really screw up a tan - makes little white circles on your arms and back.
Also athletes foot of the crouch - I don't know how the hell I got that!!?? Right between my scrotum and my leg - sore, burning, red - yuck. What is it with all these little creatures living on us??!

I had a similar affliction on my chest when I was a young man. Called pytiriasis rosea back then, it was described as a "nervous induced" skin condition and the Dr. didn't indicate that it was fungal. He was even baffled that it appeared contageous because so many young men had it.

Actually, it hit me as I was about to leave my very structured life in the Air Force and go live on my own for the first time - a little anxiety I suppose. I have seen it on the chests and backs of other young men and may be one of those things that hit us like acne.

I haven't had that since getting older.

I read that fungus is so hard to get rid of and does like us because we are very similar in our DNA. It seems appropriate that humans would be related to fungus. :D

I got ringworm all over my thighs. No clue how. Went to the doctor, they gave me some heavy duty cream to use. It worked, but I got left with scars, hope your dont do that. These things suck. But I dont think it has anything to do with not being the cleanest person, I shower regularly. I dunno. Ive had alot of problems with my legs in the past year though, a few months back I got staph all over my thighs. That was awful too.

Yeah, i've had it too - got it from adopting a feral cat and not keeping it isolated/under treatment long enough before letting the cutie interact with the family. We all got it but it hit me really hard.

There was an over the counter cream that pretty much cleared it up for everyone, but when they appeared on my face and i was searching for employment, i broke down and saw a doc and got put on some weird antibiotic that required a high-fat diet for full absorption.

Anyway, it's really one of those classic zoonotic fungii - passes readily back and forth between humans and animals. Take heart though, it's not actually a worm in, on or under your skin. In fact, it's just a fungal growth on the surface.

    Peace & Love,

Yeah ringworm is extremely common. I got it a few times as a kid. It doesn't really come from being "Unclean". How you got it isn't as important as getting rid of it.

    Peace Out,

To Heal Ringworm: 1 tube of Neosporin: 1 Bottle of Benzite (sp) brown sticky stuff.
Put a dap of Neosporin on affected area. Put a dap of Benzite over the Neosporin. Let dry and cover with a bandaid. Wash and repete daily. Ringworm will be gone within 3 days. Take Benedril to cease the urge to scratch.

No need for pills/expencive creams/doctors bills. Heal Healthy
