yeah, and mussolini got the trains running on time... this is our second (majority) unelected prime minister... it's supposed to be a deomcratically elected leader... not a "you can do do the job until someone comes along that everyone likes" position ... or is it?
Are you out of your fucking conservative mind? Healthcare reform, wall street and banking reform, Supreme court justice appointment Sonia Sotomayor and now Solicitor General Elena Kagan (the youngest justice to ever serve) She'll be seated on the bench for the next 30 years – it doesn’t get any better :cheers2: Hotwater
That is an unfair comparison. Unless, that is, you can make it fair. Clegg/Cameron=Mussolini Mmmm, doesn't sound right to me (Probably better than a Hitler Comparison ). Who did you want to win? The truth is with out PR these results can manifest.
And you must be out of your fucking socialist mind. So ... you believe in free lunches? As long as someone else pays and never mind the country going bankrupt. Also, Obama evidently believes in maintaining the world-wide American empire through force of arms. Guess you like that as long as it's a socialist doing it. Oh, btw, Hitler was a socialist. Obama's in good company there. Geez, take off the blinders.
He also got signed the Fair Pay act getting rid of the vagina tax. He signed the serve america act, effectively quadrupling the size of AmeriCorps. He restricted bans on fetal stem cell research. Increased student loans. Superhero like.
quickly, cos there is no need to hijack what might be an interesting obama thread... of course i can, only an idiot says something without being able to back it up....ignoring the fact that mussolini stepped into power during a period of uncertainty in his own country for the mo' ... Mussolini didn't in fact make the trains run on time, they ran perfectly well before and after he was in power, but he did manage to convince the people that he did (very old political trick) ..... when the shit hits the fan politicians put on their best smile, pat us on the head and make great emphasis of the the good they have done (or in this case, only claimed to have done) instead of the bad which is exactly what cameron and clegg are doing ... intiating massive cutbacks, making no preparation for the thousands that will soon be losing their jobs in the public sector, raising the age of retirement etc etc etc ... and all the time smiling and telling us we'll be fine i guess you are too young to remember the miners strike, the poll tax riots, the criminal justice act, the thousands that lost their homes due to rising inflation..... and all the time thatcher telling us "you've never had it so good" or mebbe you just don't know anything about mussolini you're right, Hitler would be a terrible comparisson..... he become chancellor in germany after securing 43.9% of the public vote... far more than either of our political parties in 2010 .... as a politician, hitler was far more succesful than anyone we can get within' running distance of 10 downing street (now that is a scary thought)
That's none specific about the current policies of the coalition and where it is going wrong, but I get your point...and it has much merit. This isn't just something Mussolini may have done...so I wonder why use him as a comparison, given all the terrible things he did too. Including creating a fascist police state. If you know a lot about Mussolini, he isn't a fair comparison. If all you are saying is that he made things look good when they were bad...bad call on the comparison, sir. You are right: there is no need to hijack what might be an interesting Obama thread... If this thread turns to shit, maybe we can rejuvinate it with happy times of Thatchers Britain and Cameron's and Clegg's bromance. Btw, I'm 34...you're a tad too young too.
You are talking about the government takeover of the Student Loan program? Yes, the government controlling student loans is a great thing. Wonderful day for Freedom. What is it about big government that you socialists adore so much? Do you really consider the government this big, warm, fuzzy teddy-bear like entity. Always having our best interest at heart? Really?!! You're being sarcastic, right? You couldn't possibly be that naive about a career politician? Ask Shirley Sherrod how superhero like Obama is. He's practically omniscient!! Gag. Oh yeah, how about "The Cybersecurity Act of 2009" which gives the president "kill-switch" power to shut down the internet in an "emergency". Guess who defines what an emergency is. And Hotwater, you never answered my question about a Free lunch. Do you really think the government is a better judge of how to spend our money than we are? That's what this health care crap is all about. And how do you like being a slave? See, everyone. EVERYONE must have health insurance or be fined by the IRS and possibly jailed. No choice. Voluntary compassion is a beautiful thing. Forced compassion at the point of a gun is slavery. Welcome to the wonderful world of Big Government. Fuck the Constitution, right?!! Fuck freedom. Fuck us.
No, I simply don't accept you know what provisions of the constitution either of those things you mentioned violated. FAFSA was always government administrated. The Cybersecurity act gives the president authority to: You're not being forced to do anything. You're taxed as an American citizen and those taxes go to social services. If you didn't like paying taxes, you could always go to another country, go to the US embassy, and renounce your citizenship. Slaves don't have that choice. You're a troll.
