    From the Drudge Report:

Judge strikes down -- IN 138 PAGE RULING -- 'Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California'...

JUDGE: PROPOSITION 8 DOES NOT SURVIVE RATIONAL BASIS...

JUDGE: Having considered the trial evidence and the arguments of counsel, the court pursuant to FRCP 52(a) finds that Proposition 8 is unconstitutional and that its enforcement must be enjoined.

'Proposition 8 places the force of law behind stigmas against gays and lesbians'...

'Stereotypes and misinformation have resulted in social and legal disadvantages for gays and lesbians'...

JUDGE: THE RIGHT TO MARRY PROTECTS AN INDIVIDUAL’S CHOICE OF MARITAL PARTNER REGARDLESS OF GENDER...

    A victory! About time.

Archaic laws need to be struck down one by one.

if two adults want to make this lifetime commitment to each other because they have found love .. then i say let them! marriage is not about being a christian and following the bible it's about being in love..

Yes- but as long as the archaic mind sets that enable such policies exist then overturning laws will be less than half the battle as they represent a mere symptom of a far greater societal ill.

if they get married, they get recognized as being married everywhere. err at least in the whole US. thats one of the differences of civil unions and marriages.

    I'm super happy.
cuz even though prop 8 is supported by the supreme court, it at least was given more thought. but i have a strong feeling the supreme court will use common sense, since this case is now about if the proposition is unconstitutional, instead of talking about the gay marriages. it was unconstitutional so i have strong confidence good news is to come
