lmao funny story bout the books. i was drunk as shit at a friend's apartment once and everyone crashed out but i was wide awake and it was really hot inside so i went to sit on the stairs outside and in the process passed out myself. well their neighbor came home after that and was carrying a bicycle upstairs and i moved aside to let him through and then passed back out. next thing i know i was being woken up by two policemen and started quoting lyrics from the Books to them because i was really wasted and didn't know what i was talking about. they asked me if i was ok and when i said i was they were like "you were just talking about telepathy and ancient heiroglyphs!"
I feel the same way about DNB today. Definitely overproduced. However it spawned an amalgamation of subgenres from its wake, and it definitely is still a beast in terms of production standards. I can dig more liquid and techstep myself these days than i do jump-up. Jungle will always have a place in my heart but the dubs, hip hop, rnb and raggae are my roots, hence my obsession with deep, moody dubstep. I have an appreciation still for some hardcore sub ratting dnb like evol intent, spor, or black sun empire.
hell yeah..i got to see spor and limewax back to back once. i really like the flow of that kind of dnb. i'm out of touch right now but i'm tryin to get back together by pickin up stuff on irc. got about 30gb of tracks i'm goin through right now for sets using serato..although i know the edm world is divided on that issue. what i dig about dnb is that it fuses influences from ALL genres. as for serato..if someone could point me in the direction of old skool jungle on vinyl i'd be HAPPY to spin that instead : )
dude i have no problem with serato or scratch users. in fact its pretty common even of more respected artists. I don't use a laptop i use Wav and Mp3 encoded at 320k on Cds. Pioneers of course. The only reason i dont use my laptop with ableton or some kind of timecode software is the extra element of fuckup involved. Ive seen laptops crap out at the worst of times before.
i've heard horror stories like that...it's unfortunate. do you do anything in the way of music production? i write stuff on reason but i've never managed to finish a track
i have dabbled in reason 4 and cubase. i have used a few VSTi's like albino, native instruments reaktor, kontakt, Nord Lead ect. got a little oxygen 8 midi controller. no released tracks as of yet. just experiments. i want to use Reason 4 rewired with ableton but i need a better laptop/desktop first. Its a great DAW but unfortunately no plug-in or VST support makes Reason useless without rewire. Not to mention the sound processing sounds like shit. Its a beast of a synth pack though. I love redrum, thor, and the combinator.
that's pretty cool..i haven't messed with anything besides reason except acid and this old rubber ducky demo. i've got a korg microsynth and an mpc2000xl but i haven't had a chance to get familiar with the mpc as of yet. i'm really interested in learning how to make complicated beats like jungle though.
Now this is a must have psychedelic album. It has all the psychedelics in one explosive cd! Best tracks are Mescaline and Salvia! My goal is to do the substance and listen to the same song, all I'm missing, is ayahuasca, dmt, and salvia!
boy thats an old one. Classic though. psytrance at a more pivotal time before subgenrefication was all the rage. The guitars and fear and loathing samples don't fly like they used to. Its funny nowadays youd be hard pressed to find a single drug reference in a Twisted Records album, let alone on the cover lol.

Shpongle is about the only exception. And that's cus simons a dmt hoarding lech. ;P Twisted is way different now than they were when the first 1200 mics album dropped.
is tip world and twisted the same label? cause that's what it says 1200 micrograms was released on...
