My 1st grow (2+ months in- take a peek :0)

lights- 500w halogen jtubes
fertilizer- miracle grow
12on/12off right now
all plants(seeds) come from different pot. some came from brick and some came from medical either way tho they are all smelling wonderful. no buds yet tho... not even on the 2+mo plants kinda sad but they get stinkier everyday. There are 14 currently... im waiting for more resources untill I get any more going. since this is my first indoor grow I lack experience and knowledge so any advice would be great. ALSO 6 of the lovelys suffered from a "heatwave" which just means 1000w of light was pounding on them, at very close range before I raised the bars, for 26+ hours, with no circulation(they got fuckin baked ha) and a few plants lost half their leaves but that was a month ago and the ones that suffered the damage decided to replace the large leaves with some awesome laterals.

I mist plants every few hours which they seem to like. I water every other day just depending on how dry their soil feels. ohhh and a cool thing I picked up messing around with them is that if you cut the tips around a foot tall when you start seeing laterals you get 2 headed beasts... which seem to grow quicker :/ not sure why.

do you have fans? it's advisable to have enough airflow on your plants so that the leaves are slightly fluttering.

 

Very nice!

I would highly recommend "super cropping" your plants. As the name suggests you will have a much higher yield and save yourself some head room.

Not bad for a first grow though!

 

yes head room would be nice ha. If I raise the lights again its to the roof lmao. what exactly is super cropping tho? should I just chop a good bit off the tops?? or is it something different. and as far as the lights go im impressed theyve done as much as they have with them. I was on a low budget and basically all I had to do was ask for free seeds (chronic seeds of course) and save some of the mids seeds I came upon and the lights and dirt were free... infact they came with the house (they had been abadoned in the basement for years and years... not the dirt but the lights and buckets)

update(.)(.) 1st light in room one is screwed its insides melted :/ the other two lights dont show any signs of melting tho so I have been moving the stand up one from room to room to cover the other half of the 1st room. 2nd room gets 11a-12pm-11p-12am and the 1st room gets the opposite so moving the stand up works pretty well. Hmm what else :/ 2nd room appears to be all females but my 1st room isnt really showin much. 2nd room has been on the 12/12 for a little longer just because its my 2nd and better attempt but the 1st room has been on 12/12 all this last month and really the only good signs im seeing is that the stems are just getting caked with crystals and they are really reaking. Idk I wish the little ladies(hopefully) would just bud already I planted the tall ones around 4/20

and yes there is a fan on the 1st room at all times the 2nd room has a vent in the closet so whenever air is on it works nicely

sweet baby buds!!!!!!! just appeared on the white widow plant(image97) and the more noticeable one that somehow went over looked the last few days has buds sproutin everywhere!(image96) yay im fuckin excited! now if only the plants in the 1st room would start doing somethin :? idk where im going wrong with them :? theyve been around longer then the ones in the 2nd room and they arent really showing many signs yet :/ its been strict 12/12 too.

oh shit just spotted another one in the 2nd room. fuck yah! thats 3 fully confirmed females 3/14 haha :/. I might have to do what im doing in the 2nd room to the 1st room :/ doing the stand up light in there and thenusing strings to tie those bad boys down a bit :/

and hell yah im proud its the 1st time Ive played this sick waiting game and it finally looks like is going to pay off.

 

Hope that helps for your next grow. I doesn't necessarily extend the length your plants need to grow but that depends on the strain and health of your plants. I would suggest doing some more research also, lots of good info and techniques you can find and play around with. Growing Cannabis is so much FUN!

yes image96 was a male :/ I was so excited to see what appeared to be a bud I totally forgot to be looking for the white pistils ha. (oops) but yah the male was buchered last night and I planted another baby hopefully she does something a bit better. So super cropping is an awesome idea ha the baby is going to be my 1st experiment with it here in another week. I've been snipping the tops right around the same time I start seeing laterals and Its been creating 2 headed beasts(one has actually become a 3 headed beast) which I really like but I dont have any bushes for plants yet so it might be cool to try. UPDATE/ as of last night I tied down the 2 biggest plants I have(in 1st room) with some fishing line to get some more head space for them (I will take pictures when im more awake... having to wake up this early monday-fri for blowngo((breathalyzer))(sp?)) sucks ) Im curious if the plant allows you to bend it fairly far down and tie it does it matter at what angle the plant should be tied at or types of interferences with other plants I should be worried with? because the 2 tallest plants I have were tied down and are crossing each other over 2 other plants.

and I understand the lights im using arent the best route (electric bill always rocks, leafs get slightly toasted once in a while) is there a just as cheap- lights only cost 30bucks with stands and 2bulbs, better, alternative, recommeneded option? I really cant go out and buy them a specialized grow light right now but im kinda hoping what I have going on will pave the way for proper growing materials on my next attempts.

edit// never really thought about starting a fire with those lights but they do get really hot. I guess its a good idea I have a fire extinguishers in the closets next door... along with a tank of gasoline. I always figured if the cops ever came knockin theres no way to safely get rid of them quickly other then to just pour gasoline all over everything thats going on, light it up, watch burn, and then put out with the fire extinguishers. Might look kinda shady to the cops if they get as far as my closets but if there isnt any plants or much of anything for that matter I much rather pay for a new closet then do some prison time. Hopefully my ability to keep my mouth shut to everyone tho(other then you lucky guys) means this wont ever happen... but the helicopter fly overs and small legal issues im involved in now... just makes me fuckin paranoid.
