Whats the best kind of paints to learn with?

    Which are most forgiving and easiest to work with for a beginner painter?

    I would think acrylics, because they're pretty easy to work with, and they don't stain as bad as oil paints. However, they do dry pretty quickly, so you won't be able to blend much.

    Yeah,with Acrylics you get to use most of the oil techniques without the expense of oil paints. Also oil takes foreeeever to dry!:(
    otherwise I suggest water colors.
