Members of Janes Addiction a long time ago Henry Rollins a long time ago Soul Asylum a very long time ago Beck a few years ago Brainiac and Enon-knew/know them Kim Deal the Cows, not stars but great Thee Headcoats hmmmm more......
I've only met Finnish rock starts (if you can call them rock stars...). Ville Valo from HIM and Tarja Turunen from Nightwish are probably the only ones you guys may have heard of.
Michael Stipe Peter Buck & Mick Mills of R.E.M. They were cool. Michael Stipe is a pretty normal guy from the one you see in the videos And Sully Erna from Godsmack. He was cool too, But really short!
wow! meeting REM would be really cool... Ive met Dave McPherson from InMe at the Glasgow Garage....he was a very nice young man...not to mention really hot. He was really cool coz he made a conscious effort to tok 2 everybody - he was really grateful that we had all made the effort to stand around ,freezing our asses off in January, to meet him! lol. I also met Simon, the drummer from the same band - but at a different venue, the Glasgow QMU to be precise. peace and love xxxxxx
man, you are soooo lucky!!!!!!!! Well, i may get to meet Tarja soon...im going to see nightwish in february in Glasgow so i might get to meet her then ( fingers crossed anyways lol)...i cant wait!! I saw HIM in January this year but Ville never came outside unfortunately! ......oh well. peace and love xxxxxx
Hehe, well I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Mind you, back in the 90's when no one outside Finland had heard anything about Nightwish or HIM and they still played in these small clubs, there wasn't much audience and after the gig, all the band members usually just hung out with the people in the clubs and drank beer. That's how I got to meet them. They're much bigger stars now, so I very much doubt they'd do stuff like that anymore tho.
that's way groovy Gabbee i've had the pleasure of meeting the late Brent Mydland Mike Watt Robert Hunter and probably some others that escape me at the moment
i met the wailers once... don't really consider them rock stars though. and one day i, by chance, ran into billy martin (of medeski, martin and wood) and didn't know who he was. we just started chattin it up.
I've met a few... mighty bosstones, and few others.. But my favorate is meeting frank black, and speaking to the catholics' guitarist
I can't say I met him, but about 20 years ago I seen Bob Seger in a record store. As he was paying for his purchase, we both nodded hello to each other. Don't know if there is anyone I want to meet. But I would have liked to have been at Benny Goodman's 1938 Carnegie Hall Concert. The Beatles final show at Candlestick Park, and/or any/all of their recording sessions. Maybe a couple other events/concerts.
LOL I cant believe I forgot Sammy Hagar (sp?) from Van Hagar (Van Halen but not). He was wearing a lime green Armani-looking suit and ordering a cheeseburger and a Vanilla shake at Johnny Rockets in Hollywood. what A cheeseball! and talk about surprisingly short people- Les Claypool and Shannon Hoon were both way short. Les was like 4'3" or something.
Mitch Mitchell, Billy Cox from The Experience... that was so nice ... they are so cool! Lou Reed And some in concerts but i couldn't talk to them..
I saw Robert Smith (the Cure lead singer..) in summer 2002 at the Heathrow airport in london.. i was just arrived he was leaving... And then also that same summer i saw FatboySlim while i was bumming for Brighton'streets.. anyway i both saw them.. never talked.. also cause i was such petrified that i really couldnt have said a word...
I never got to meet any at concerts. I really, really want to meet Chris Cornell though. Dec. 10 I'm going to a Future Leaders of the World concert. It's a small concert so maybe I'll get to meet em.
funny. I didnt meet chris cornell but i got to photograph his band at lollapalooza last year. he got right over me and sweated all over my camera. he was screaming into the mic and staring right down at me. the pic i got of it makes him look constipated. LOL
