Who am I? I think I'm a normal guy I just happen to live in society that frowns upon the idea of seeing me in flip flops or dare I say it, barefoot. I remember all the back to my Kindergarten who would insist I put my shoes on in class. Now I'm 40 and in the community that society throws me in they think I'm some freak because I wear flip flops most of the year. I don't know what it si with African Americans and their aversion to black men and sandals but as a so called black man I refuse to wear $100 dollar boots in shoes when the temp is above freezing and there isn't inclement weather. It is my opinion that the shoe companies like Mike, Reebok, K-Swiss, Timberland, etc have re enslaved the black population by the attitudes of shoes. Since diabetes is huge in my family I won't typically go completely bare as I'd hate to find out I have this terrible disease by getting cut and not healing. I'm not gay far from it but I do enjoy a bi-weekly pedicure (again proper clipping of nails and making sure circulation is proper.
.Nothing wrong with a pedi at all. Especially with a family history of diabetes .I agree with what you say about the shoe companies .I choose in warm weather to not wear shoes if I don't have to .I go barefoot as often as i can .I don't know why it is such a big deal to others what i have on my feet .You just have to live to suit yourself.By the way I wanted to welcome you .I should have said that first .I am new here as well .It is nice to meet you .
you're not b.e., are you? no, fort wayne, he wouldn't live there you sound just like him though, so welcome, friend...
