Was the 80's pretty much the worst decade in recorded time?

Morrissey does enjoy a dab of wimpy moaning I will give you that! But it was still pretty unique for the time.

The 90's were pretty ace as well. But with grunge came a whole lot of TERRIBLE pop, rap and dance music.

And in the UK we got Brit pop, and I loathe that stuff. Everyone loves Oasis, but me of course.

i DIDN'T MIND THE oASIS...THEY'RE PRETTY MUCH HARMLESS FELLOWS when they're not fighting or throwing things out of hotel windows....but then again, The Stones used to do that too in their day.....history repeating I suppose :)

    People always say this, but you know what, the 80's had;

    -indoor plumbing
    -dental care
    -cars
    -medicine
    -music
    etc.

Try living in the middle ages or older.

Maybe it was the worst to you. It's a matter of opinion. I liked the 80's myself.

No. the 80s were cool. If I could have experienced being an adult in the 80s (even for like a week) that would be so cool. LOL Bright colors and tacky clothing.......what's not to love. I am serious.

The 80's probably had more proficient virtuosos than the 70's

    Steve Vai
    Joe Satriani
    Yngwie Malmsteen
    Michael Hedges
    Stevie Ray Vaughn
Van Halen was even more 80's

I don't really care for 80's music either just saying...

Oh I don't know, I thought it was alright. It wasnt as wild as like the 60's and 70's. I graduated in 1980 from high school. Im a big Lita Ford fan and Dokken. I think I was the only one around here that listens to Dokken. There was a bar down in Valley City that had area rock bands so I used to go down there a lot. I used to go by myself because my friends didn't want to leave their hometown....I should have wandered off sooner and went further.....I look at the 80's and being in my 20's at the time as that period when I got out on my own and got to have fun.

You know, when I stop to think about it and I guess it was just plain overshadowed by the fun of being young at the time. The 80's were kind of when things started to go wrong. Regan got to be president and we lost all the small town buisness and small family farms. Everything had to be big buisness, greed was the order of the day. Trickle down economy my ass. More like cut out the lower classes and put the money straight into the pockets of the rich. Lets not forget Regans shady foreign policys either. And then of course John Lennon got killed....yea I guess the 80's did suck.

The 80s had a lot of great music and a lot of terrible music.

Compare that to now: a full decade of absolute shit.

....the MOST terrible music was written, produced and arranged in the 80s :):)...and if you compare the 80s to the 60s, 70s and 90s, you'll get the picture right away :):)
