The difference between DXM and LSD is like the difference between DXM and alcohol. Just two completely different, unrelated substances.

The experiences are completely different, DXM is a dissociative, LSD is a psychedelic, in some senses they are actually opposites of each other; dissociatives shut you down, are about exploring your inner mind, psychedelics open you up, turn you on, are about exploring all of existence/reality.

South park's little DXM trip clip is actually quite good, I would have expected no less from them. But it was closer to what a psychedelic is like, than what a dissociative is like, though of course still absolutely nothing like either.
