Why is heroin so scathed by even the most promising of recreational drug users?

I must admit, although I haven't had a hit of the sweeet crack cocaine in over 25 yrs, if it was legal there are some days I'm sure I just couldn't control myself. It's one of many reasons I chose to reside in a less-than-metropolitan part of the country. No Crack dealers on the street corner tempting me here!

Has anyone ever bought a nice little amount of crack or coke to have for some other night, but you decide to do just one hit or line to check the quality, and the next thing you know its daylight, you're outta coke and you're peeking out the window blinds paranoid as hell?

Happens to me everytime, LMFAO! I havent done coke in over a year though, been mostly hangin with opies. I absolutely hate the comedown when you have been tweaked for a day or two trying to figure out how to get more. When I do binge on wally-whitewater again I'm gonna make sure I have a couple stamps afterwards. I found Klonopin to be great afterwards also.

never girl ever put a needle in ur arm. I was Junkie for around 15yrs. I will always be a junkie. Fact of life. I love heroin. It loves me to. heroin is a wonderful . But when your sick , then that dam monster has you!!! I've been clean 6yrs now. never (i hope ) will I play that game again. take care of ur self.

this is such bullshit anyone who uses an opiate is using heroin. even when you have no tolerance to it and can get high off a 1/4 of a sub its the eqivalent to just takin a hit on foil or a 1/2 point in a shot. wether or not you are doing it without consequence it is changing you. your outlook on life, your veiw of people, or your new take on drugs it has changed you. i am an avid heroin user and i cannot stress how much destruction this drug has laid onto my life. from my very first hit to present day there has not ben one day i have been without and being 18 poor and living in the inercity i wont mention the things i go through on a daily to aquire this rediculous evil. if you plan on trying it DONT even thinking DONT THINK.it sounds rediculous but very true.

 

It's a myth that 100% pure heroin is benign on the body. Forgetting the damage you are doing to your endogenous opioid system, it is quite hard on your kidneys and liver.

I can't find a citation for it right now, but there is a famous account of a Dean of Pharmacology at an Ivy league medical scool that was( only discovered upon his death at 93) an addict during his entire tenure of nearly 60 years.

It is fairly well known today that our bodies have receptors for, and produce naturally a variety of psychoactive substances.
Loading those systems with external forms of these compounds can confuse the bodys natural balance.
My belief is that any drug that acts upon our own natural systems, opioid or (I dare say) even cannabinoid system, long term use could cause our body to produce less of, even cease to produce naturally the small amounts of those compounds necessary for everyday mental as well as physical well being.

I'm going to draw a parallel here to a modern ailment called
"Rebound scurvy"
Though a quirk of evolution, Vitamin C is synthesized by the body only in small amounts, to get enough we must consume a little extra, from natural sources... little O.J, couple of onions, whatever...no problemo, we supplement with the relatively small amounts of vit C available in natural foods.
However it was observed when people mega-dosed Vitamin C (early '80s health fad) long term,they tricked their body's into non-production. When they stopped taking the supplement their body's quickly began to exhibit signs of scurvy, a disease not seen for over 100yrs in this country.

for every one who says that legalizing all drugs would make them relapse... im an alcoholic. i dont know if you have all realized this but alcohol is everywhere. i know its a different addiction but the temptation is still there constantly

 

Because if u fuk up on using herion u done. It's the worst thing to every try or get addicted to. Ur making deals with the devil. I will never respect herion user. Read and see what it does to ppl why would u ever try it not worth the risk. Popin hydrocodone 2/3 times week that snot so bad but fuk herion I hate herion junkies they rob and hit ppl

 

What I cant stand is all these people popping, snorting, even shooting painkillers talking shit about heroin. They give you the same effects (to different degrees dpending on tolerence dose etc.) they come from the same thing. Popping oxys is no better then doing heroin, IMO its worse, your spending more money, they are usually harder to get then heroin and they give you the illusion that your addiction isnt that bad. When it comes down to it the person doing painkellers will do anything a heroin addict would do to get their next dose.
To top it all off it makes life miserable for people with a valid need for painkilles who dont abuse them.

 

The ratio of successful heroin users to smack head losers is a little one sided. One person may be fine with it, but ultimately it is highly addictive and destroys lives. Your health will get worse, not a question of might, and it's extremely dangerous.

But realistically speaking, I treat all users of those 'bigger drugs' the same- I think they are all jerks and idiots. Whether your shooting, pilling, popping, snorting or smearing, I don't want to know you.

Herion is devil I know burglars thieves and robbers. They all herion junkies. I use hydrocodone maybe two three times week tops. Cause I'm smart to know it's powerful drug. If u do herion ur done in life. It's addiction for ever. I don't need vicodin. Cause I'm strong

 

I think heroins got a bad wrap from people banging it. People don't like needles. I hear people knocking dope but there sitting there sniffing more 80mg ocs or 100mg morphines then I can count. I've heard people doing dopee and then saying they would "never bang it" because that crosses the line. When people think of heroin especially younger they relate it to shooting up, they don't realize you can sniff it or smoke it or eat it or plug it. So idk, i may be wrong but I think thats a big thing in it besides all the other shit of it being really addictive physically/mentally.

 

Here's the thing it I guess gives such great high but why chance it. It's not weed. It hits dopamine in ur brain. Mess that up and ur screwed. Cmon I love be super high but I know it's a gamble and one slip ur done. Ask a person uses herion heck ever oxy. They regret even taken first hit.

 

hey dumbass (jpflex) if you dont have a tolerance, 3 vicodin 10mg's (depending on weight, gender, etc.) is the same as 6-10mg of heroin. I got just as high when i didn't do h and drank tussonex (hydrocodone) than doing h. Opiates are opiates

 

Funnily, this was on the news last night. Heroin addict, desperate to buy drugs, steal a woman's car and when she steps into the road to stop him- he accelerates and knocks her down point black. Is it really worth it?
