Ive been having this problem for a while but thought nothing of it. This morning was brutal though, I had a bad night the night before and I woke up with extreme pain. I was in alot of stress and nervousness and I guess it settled in my stomach. I ran to the bathroom a couple times. Other than that, I felt really nauseous. I took a couple deep breaths but it only did little release. It does this when I drink the night before too. I thought it was an ulcer, I still think it is but I sometimes run to the bathroom when extremely nervous about something. so it could be IBS. Can anyone relate or give me remedies to prevent this? Its really annoying!
The intestines, for whatever reason, have receptors in them for hormones strongly linked to anxiety. I was actually diagnosed with my Generalized Anxiety Disorder when I went to the doctors because my food poisoning wouldn't go away. Remedies shmemedies. Work on gaining control of your anxiety. Cutting out the unnecessary and excessive anxiety, and responding positively to your healthy anxieties. Autogenics really helped me when my psychological problems first started taking it out on my body. Now, I can no longer focus enough to do autogenics. I want to learn meditation, but I get extremely tired when I try to focus =/
Well I try to calm myself down but it still settles there. Even if I Think about something else, its not going away until it does. very very annoying its kinda like heart break, sleep, and wake up with more pain unexpected.
I really suggest autogenics. It's recommended you do it with a recording, but I used to do it in my head, and it worked really well. I do recommend recording yourself saying it, if you have the equipment though. You want to be in a quiet and comfortable place, in a comfortable position, sitting recommended, laying acceptable. Start yourself off by deep breathing. Except for your breathing, remain completely still. Then you picture your body getting heavier. This puts it into a more relaxed state, no longer holding itself up. Simply start off "My right foot is getting heavier. My right foot is getting heavier. My right foot is getting heavier." Nice and slow and calmly. "My left foot is getting heavier." Start at your feet, work your way up to your calves, your thighs, your butt, your hands, your arms, your lower back, your shoulders, your neck, and your head. Your neck and your head may not feel any different the first few times you do it. Include them anyways, and don't worry about it if they don't feel like they're being affected. After you make everything heavy, in the same order, tell yourself those areas are relaxing. Tell yourself you can feel the tension easing away, or melting, or evaporating. Picture your muscles relaxing or the tension leaving or whatnot. Stay calm, relaxed, and patient. After you get done relaxing (or attempting to relax) your whole body, then you can get to work on your stomach. Picture your gut cooling down if it's hot, relaxing if it feels tight, running smoothly if you're irregular. Tell yourself that your gut is carefree, that it is worry free, that it is problem free. You get the picture. You can look for better guides to autogenics if you wish, but I couldn't find any and didn't feel like typing up the whole chapter of the book I got it from. http://www.amazon.com/Guide-Stress-Reduction-2nd-Ed/dp/1587610914/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1275805057&sr=8-1"]I do recommend the book though.

Yeah, walking seems to help a lot of ailments. I had a nervous breakdown not too long ago, and couldn't stop thinking at all, for even a second, for days. One night, I finally got to sleep, for two hours, and woke up feeling even more tired, and I seemed to be thinking even more, and faster. The next night, I went for a walk at 6 am after I realized that being more tired wasn't helping me sleep any. There was this thick fog all around, and as I walked across this bridge near my house, I saw the most amazing thing (well, heard, first). It was raining beneath me. I don't know if it was dew setting or what, but it was raining at right about the level of the bridge, but up around me, the fog was thick and very gaseous. Anyways, later on in the walk, my thoughts would actually stop for a second or two, and it felt awesome. When I got back from the walk, I was still thinking way too much, but it wasn't bothering me as bad. That night I did sleep, but I can't attribute that completely to the walk, my girlfriend slept over =P
Make sure you are breathing from your diaphragm when stressed. When we get stressed, we tend to take quick, shallow breaths from the upper part of our chest. Slow, deep breaths from the diaphragm - your belly should move in and out but your chest should stay still. I have this problem too - stress/anxiety upsets my bowels. Try to relax - give yourself permission to feel what you're feeling, and self-talk yourself back to normal. Also, I've found a small amount of MJ is great for those panic attacks.
