Dude! If you're doing it on your own time, who cares; you're in charge of your life. People that judge you based on something like that aren't really very confident in themselves. I got my ear pierced twice at 38 and everybody freaked (I was a solid military guy). Anything that can be seen by employers or clients should be carefully weighed, because when you take a job you agree to represent the company's image. If you're not comfortable with that you have the freedom to work somewhere else. On the other hand if you have a job where you get to work barefoot and people can see your toe rings, all I want to know is...are they hiring...that's just too cool. Omar
In this tough economy, it's difficult to find a job where you have to wear shoes, let alone one where you can be barefoot. But as to the rest of your post, I know what you mean.
I also believe that both toe rings and nail polish can be interpreted as flags of homosexuality . since i don't believe that being gay is wrong, don't give a crap if others think or say that i'm gay and i like toe rings i've been wearing some (up to 5 at a time) for years until i was fed up with losing them around. on the other side i dislike nail polish a lot, i find it a display of bad taste both for men and women, that's why I never used it. this said, i believe that if someone does not feel comfy with the chance of being yelled at FAG ! it is safe to avoid wearing toe rings and toe nail polish , specially when combined together.
I wear toe rings and from time to time paint my toe nails. I have never been call a fag. I don't care if anyone does. I do not wear the rings or paint my toe nails for anyone but me and don't give a damn what others think about it. Un-like jagerhans I do not thing nail polish is in bad taste. I think nail art is way cool on both sexes.
i can't but be glad that you're not living in an uptight aggressive society where people feels entitled to attack you if they dislike your appearance, and if i added my opinion about nail polish is just to explain why i don't use it - not social pressure but just my personal taste, no big deal. no one here really gives a damn about what the crowd thinks of us or else this would be a fashion forum. in fact it is just the opposite.
I really don't care if anyone thinks it looks "gay". No one has ever said anything out loud to me anyway. The opinions of homophobes mean nothing to me.
are we still on this? listen, if your a guy and you want to wear toe rings...GO AHEAD AND DO IT! fuck what other people think! it is your life. who in the hell are you hurting wearing toe rings? if other people have a problem with your toe rings; THATS THEIR PROBLEM, NOT YOUR'S! the good is your life and, the good is to live it.
I agree. But there's so many ways to condemn somebody for something...anything ..and the desire to build ones self up lends itself to such silliness.
I don't think it's weird at all. I know a lot of straight guys who have pierced ears and wear rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc. Even mainstream stores sell jewelry marketed towards guys. And seriously, no one who matters and who you'll want to be close to is going to think less of you for wearing a toe ring. As for girls...I think confidence in a guy is a turn on, and that includes being comfortable with who you are and not caring about the opinions of idiots.
I don't wear any metal toe rings, although I probably would. I have nothing against them on men. Whilst I don't have any metal rings, I do wear what I guess is a toe ring, although it's just 'ring' made out of several loops of a thread around my toe. No negative reactions so far, although I haven't worn them for too long. But I don't think it's gay or anything to wear them. I've always got lots of jewellery on. Not jewellery I take on and off though, depending on what I feel like. But rather I'm constantly wearing it, like several necklaces, a ring or two, lots of bracelets, anklets... But I don't really give a fuck what people think of it, so no one cares. Just be confident with it. My 'toe rings'
