I downloaded a torrent that took awhile to download and its finished. All of the Rolling Stones studio releases plus all the singles! Its only missing their two last albums. But I got everything from their first album to the album Voodoo Lounge. I'll just make a list... I'M SO DAMN EXCITED! The Rolling Stones The Rolling Stones No. 2 Out of Our Heads Aftermath Between the Buttons Their Satanic Majesties Request Beggars Banquet Let It Bleed Sticky Fingers Exile on Main St. Goats Head Soup It's Only Rock n Roll Black and Blue Some Girls Emotional Rescue Tattoo You Undercover Dirty Work Steel Wheels Voodoo Lounge They really should make a torrents part of the music and TV forums..
awesome! I love it when a complete discography finishes d/ling Er.. I mean, when I bring home a fresh box set that I legitimately purchased from the record store...
I have no money. Me no like paying for music. Theres also another good site. Mp3Locker.net. Its not torrents just zipped files with the MP3s. If there is one thing I know how to do on the computer its stealing music.
In fact I just downloaded another torrent.. The complete Ramones discography. GABBA GABBA HEY! Heh.. All the file names are messed up so I have to rename them all. Ramones Leave Home Rocket to Russia Road to Ruin End of the Century Pleasant Dreams Subterranean Jungle Too Tough To Die Animal Boy Halfway to Sanity Brain Drain Mondo Bizarro Acid Eaters Adios Amigos!
Those are US albums. So I got those songs on UK albums. Plus the singles that appeared on those albums.
word i love queuing up about 5 massive downloads just before going to bed. then, when i wake up like 12 hours later, i have another couple of weeks worth of music
do you work for the RIAA? either that, or you must be a wizard, since you've figured out how to 'own' sounds. but hey, if you want to give your cash to sony, emi, universal, or warner brother's, that's your call. i can see purchasing from a working band/artist that puts their music out themselves... but to spend money on a release from any major label is ludicrous.
you're only ludicrous if you continue to buy cd's or use itunes or whatever the 'proper' way to operate is. this crazy thing called the internet is wonderful. you can hear whatever the hell you want with almost instant gratification.
Being proud on your complete collection of mp3's albums is kinda funny in my opinion, but yeah, it's great to be able to listen to any song you want instantly.
i ain't a wizard, i just support the damn music i listen to. if they're willing to give me their art i'll gladly give them some money and i don't listen to stuff on those labels for the most part, even so they may be money grubbing corporations and not true supporters of the music they release they still give some of the profit to the musicians like they're supposed to, better than just being some downloading douche
i go to shows in lieu of buying albums, generally. what's the harm(profit-wise) in downloading an album if i've already given said performer 15-50 bucks? do popular musicians really need that much more money? by the way, i'm defining popular as receiving radio play, mtv rotation, etc. for me, it all comes back to the inability to 'own' music. are you gonna start riffing on suburban teenagers that learn how to play the latest green-day song from a TAB website? aren't they stealing 'intellectual property'? pretty sure they aren't paying for that, and they're getting unlimited access to a 'low-quality recording' of the song. i am now, and will forevermore be, one of these 'downloading douches'.
I could see your point if we were talking about some low-earning indie band, trying to make it big, in which case I would support giving them a bit of extra cash and actually buying their record, but this is the fucking stones we're talking about. Firstly, they're not even making new music any more, so it's hardly like any of that money's going to go towards them doing something constructive like improving their sound through buying better instruments or equipment or whatever, and secondly, I highly doubt that anyone in their right mind is going to have a thought process along the lines of 'Hmm, my family is struggling to keep up with the bills this month, but that doesn't matter because mick jagger needs a fifth house!' By paying for these records, all you're realistically doing is giving money to bloodsucking corporations and retired millionaires, and regardless of how awesome those retired millionaires may be, funding their next sports car or trip to the bahamas does not make you better than us.
