I was listening to Beck about an hour ago, and he was demonizing Mrs. Obama for highlighting inequalities between the present minorities versus non minorities. For having the audacity to suggest that Blacks and Hispanics strive for something greater than sports, prison, and impure lifestyles she has made herself a target for Beck. Instead of applauding this idea, he reduced himself to mocking her.

Here is my question for you. How do you think people like beck, hannity, rush, michael savage, boortz, would react if the Blacks and Mexicans who live irresponsibly began to model themselves after the Chinese and embraced education, and this happened on a MASSIVE scale (which is EXACTLY what I believe Mrs. Obama and President Obama would like to see happen)? Asians are the top earning group in america, and I believe Mrs. Obama is suggesting that given an equal chance Blacks and Hispanics can dramatically improve their status and become the top earners in america. After all, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and "Others" will make up the majority of the population soon. It would only make sense that the aforementioned individuals would gladly embrace such an event... right?

Can you provide a link, please. :)

Edit: I am sorry as that sounded rude. I searched but there are hundreds of links and I am not sure I am finding the one you meant. Sorry about it sounding off.

There would be no reason for an individual to respond rudely to the responsible and thoughtful message/question that I previously posted. The only reason I could see for such an inappropriate response would be to stir up controversy and strife. This is one HUGE reason that I carefully analyze who I will and will not communicate with. If my responsible post conjures up such anger and hostility in some individuals, perhaps they should find another thread to read. I would like to offer my thanks for future responsible posts from responsible individuals :).

    Cheers!

Certain individuals should read posts more closely before making their comments. I clearly stated that I had just been listening to Glen Beck an hour prior to my post. t should go without saying that if I hear something on the radio (a 3 hour show) an hour prior to making the post, the radio host, glen beck, is still likely on air. Unless you listen to the show, or wait for links to be posted I can not help with a reference at that time.

However all of this is irrelevant. I made a post about a snippet that I heard on the radio and asked for reactions TO THAT SNIPPET, and my analysis/question about that snippet. It seems that some people seek to change the topic in order to possibly hide their true feelings on the issue. So here is what I suggest to those who may or may not still be confused.

    1. Re read my initial post
    2. Think objectively and truthfully about the questions posed.
    3. ??????
    4. PROFIT!! :)
    5. Respond in a responsible and rational way.

Again I thank responsible individuals for their future responsible posts :)

    Cheers!

Since the OP did not even bother to post a link Or he does not know how to, here it is. This is the transcript for the first hour of his show.

    http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/42878/

My OP your arrogance for talking about things is amazing.

Someone asking for a link it is not a rude question.

If you post things on RT you need to be ready for people to respond in any way. If that is to much for you, perhaps you should not post here.

Anything Beck, Rush or any of those other entertainment shows talk about is irrelevant.

They will still be making millions of dollars regardless of what group is the top earner.

I give equal irrelevance to anything Mrs. Obama says.

Why would you care how entertainment radio personalities react on anything?

They have no effect on your life.

You posted this at 8:32PM. His first hour starts at a 9:00am. (give or take depending on your time zone)

His newsletter with the link went out at 3:02 pm.

His website had the link before the newsletter went out.

Even if you were listening to a re broadcast. The web site had the link.

Do not lash out at others for your inability to go to his site and post a link that was already there. ;)

    WTH? that was odd.

anyway, i'm with you, UA, why should anyone care what those entertainers think? i would find it more illuminating to ask my plumber what he thinks.

If your thread was so thoughtfully written, how come I couldn't understand what you were talking about without a link?

I will not post again in this thread after your response to me.

    Have a nice day.

The responses in this thread aren't a surprise. Chances are slim that any rational discourse can take place over some quotes made by someone like Glenn Beck.

    Kia Ora Ni Hao!

Either I am being asked how are you and good health, or this is about some new TV series about 6 Kura Kaupapa students.

As far as your original post, including a link is generally done. Requesting one is standard. My clarification in the edit was due to not having typed with you before and wishing for you to know that I was interested in the topic but as a grown up, I like to read all that pertains to an issue before I comment. :)

As far as your request for opinions, I respectfully decline.

The fusty old lady factor seems to be prevalent in a few posts here. Remember the church lady, on snl, taking offense at nonsense? Probably not.

    :DKia Ora Ni Hao!

Some of the unfortunate comments on this thread are further proof that certain people are feeling uncertain about their future. COMPLETELY GONE are the days of LOUD AND PROUD... we are now seeing Blacks and Mexicans, as well as newly and countries with MUCH greater comparative power stand up and prove certain people to be toothless tigers.

Obviously there is little agreement with Mrs. Obama's statement, and my analysis among some. Why have certain people been reduced to posting irrelevant material when confronted with opposition to their views? Certain people have certainly fallen very far, and it looks like this is going to continue! It indeed seems that some have taken the plunge from: http://www.flickr.com/photos/whsimages/4195583810/, to their current state :):) but I digress.

It must feel degrading for these people to see "their" country being "taken" from them.... so they go and... throw a tea party! Crumpets anyone? HAHAHAHA!!!! but I digress again.

I challenge those with irrelevant material to go start "their own" thread, but knowing that some people are obsessed with threads started by responsible individuals, they will hang around. It is telling how certain people used to want to be separate, but now responsible individuals have to keep them away with a stick!!!

So my question for the responsible, how do you think the country will react when in the very near future, Blacks and Hispanics who presently embrace a mentality of inferiority ( actions affirming negative stereotypes, prison, drugs) abandon this to embrace the mentality of superiority (education, positive lifestyle changes, freeing their lives from all negative stereotypes )

    Cheers!

Strong is good. Angry and mean makes everyonr ugly to me though. It might just be her face, you know, that natural tendency for a frown, I have it, too. It's not attractive.
