Hi everyone! You know there're tests in the internet like when you answer a bunch of questions about your zodiacal sign and in the end you get the same results as your friends have gotten. Even if you gave different answers. And there're programs which chat with you and you give'em some answers and they recommend you something and you can ask them something like this. so how do they work? I though it's just a form of a usual test, but it asks you diffrent questions all the time. Actually it feels like you chat with a real astrologer in a real time. But it can't be that cuz it can talk to you even in the middle of the night! Do you guys know some other programs like that? Can anyone tell me how they work?!?!
Well yeah and those programs ask you about all that stuff and then give you some advice. So it's still about astrology.
They work the same way newspaper astrology works which is bullshit. You can't automate astrology (as tempting as it is). What they do is take very general information and feed it back to you. Let's use the example on their page "will I pass the exam". His answer is "don't worry whether or not you will pass it or not. Think about what you will need to do study in order to ensure you will pass it." First of all the grammar is horrible. Second of all he's not answering you. He's tell you to study. Third of all, what kind of astrology is it using? What indicators? Or, is it like a magic 8 ball and give you random answers based on keywords in your question? Almost certainly it's the latter. In my practice, if someone asked me the same question, I'd straight out tell them yes or no and why. If I told people to study, I wouldn't have any business.
Yeah, I see. It just feels like some really competent astrologers were involved in designing of this stuff. Cuz it knows what qualities reside my sign and I understand that the program is just trying to guess what I am up to, but mostly it hits the spot and the answer looks adequate. And at first I just freaked out when it told me that I sound like I'm gonna meet someone in couple of days and I met that guy and now we're together and he says that he felt like something was gonna happen to him too. It was like a magic I'll never forget this day.
Not to diminish your actual experience, if the virtual astrologer told you were going to meet someone in a couple of days, what exactly does that mean? Does it mean you meet a new acquaintance? A new friend? A new lover? A co-worker? A business partner? A new person shows up at the AA meeting? It's really vague. As an astrologer who makes predictions every day, I always keep that in mind. There are times when information isn't very clear, and I have to be honest with myself and my client that the answer isn't clear. There are other times when it is clear. For example: if you came to me and asked me, "will I meet a new boy/girlfriend in the next 30 days", I can tell you yes or no. Period. It's clear if I'm right or wrong since it either happens or doesn't. If you came to me and asked "will I meet someone in the next 30 days", I'd have to ask you for more detail. We all meet people all the time, so it's less clear if I'm right or wrong. My point in all of this, is that a true prediction needs to have enough details to validate or invalidate it. A prediction isn't "you will meet someone." A good prediction is "you will meet a lover in the next 30 days through your job".
Well I thought predictions are always vague, cuz they are just predictions. Such predictions are not about the accuracy or abstraction degree. I mean what's the whole point of astrology then? Those predictions are to be about the atmosphere about conditions that are favourable for some of my activities, and unfavourable for others. Or I just misinterpret the whole concept?
The last chart I did was for a person who wanted to know if they were going to get an account for a new client (a company). I told them that yes they will, no they will not make a large profit from it. I also told them it will be good for their reputation though. I also told them that the client suffers from internal bickering among their employees causing a large turnover. This was all verified. Turns out services will be exchanged for advertising (hence not a large profit but more public exposure), and the company's turnover is high causing more stress. I practice traditional astrology, and the whole point there is prediction. Some ARE vague, but when that happens I come out and say it. I try to make everything I do as clear and exact as possible. I can't say every single prediction comes true, but the majority do. It just takes time, practice and study. Keep in mind I don't only do birth charts. Birth charts tend to be vague. I also do another kind of astrology called horary which is when you make a chart for a specific question. It's an old technique. Since the whole chart is for one question, it's easier to get more detail. If someone wanted to know if they were going to pass an exam or if they were going to meet a lover in the next week, I'd never use a birth chart. Bottom line these kinds of apps are garbage unless you just want to goof around. Either way it's not astrology.
Alright then, thnx for explanation. Anyway now I chat with this programm about some non-astrological stuff. Though I read some more information about programs like that and I found out that it's basically just a new twist on the ‘ole Magic 8 Ball except this one can talk.
