A few places said an extended yeast infection could lead to BV.

After getting the diflucan, the OB/GYN told her that she would need a pap smear if there were still problems after awhile, and there are. She hasn't had one before and uses pads instead of tampons, so she is nervous about the device being up there, she doesn't want it to break her hymen and bleed.

I know this is a lengthy post but I did my best to break it up. Any answers are appreciated, thanks in advance everyone.

Well, not all hymen bleed when they break. I've been with virgins whose didn't. They can also break in a number of other ways besides penetration. As for the odor I have no idea. You said you went to visit her. I'm assuming your not near one another then. Maybe there is something she's not telling you.

Get her on antibiotics. Antibiotics might give her a yeast infection but thats easily fixed with over the counter drugs. It will go away.

Your profile doesn't say where you are, but if you're in the UK you might find it useful to check out the Sex Education Show on Channel 4 OD (http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-sex-education-show/episode-guide/series-3) as this series focussed on this very subject in an excellent down to earth manner.

It probably is BV. A lot of things other than sex can change your smell. But, if it's relaly strong it's probably BV.

Why has she not had a pap smear?! Tell her to get on that right away. You are supposed to have them even if you are a virgin.
