I decided to post this thread just cause i'm curious about loops in dreads. I've been growing my dreads for a good 4 months now and they've come a long way except there are loopies allllll over the place. I put beads on a few to kind of push em back in. I was just wondering if these ever go away with time and what your experiences have been. I'm not saying I don't love my loopies, they make my hair look crazy cool. I'm just wondering what you guys have done to help get past it. thanks

Mine went from a mass of loops to a weirdly shaped bumpy dreadlock in a year.
The loops got 'sucked in' on some (but I'm very largely still loopy) and it shaped it and the loops turned into bumpy bits.

Here is a wonderfully crafted diagram to illustrate WTF I'm talking about.

I imagine with more time the weirdly bumped dreads will become smooth typical cylinder dreadlocks.

pretty much everything sarah said :)

the loops get sucked in over time. its a sign of maturing dreads :)
