I met my now husband off of the internet. we meta few weeks after talking and will be together 2 years in october. I spent a lot of time with him just dating. and then in december of last year he proposed.
so it is possible. and with my severe social anxiety, meeting him online first helped a little bit.

bc Honestly my husband is the best man I have ever met. He takes care of the kids, neither of them are his. I was 8 weeks pregnant when he met me, and he knew all about it and didnt care. and He gives me a lot of breaks from the kiddos bc of my lupus. He understand s my depression and issues adn he is really good. and I met him online first. so it can happen.
