i have lots of gift ideas for my daughter, but my son's the tough one. he already has too many toys. i mean, seriously, too many toys. i thought about maybe making him an apron from some old jeans, and matching pot holder and hot mitts. maybe a recipe book with his favorite snacks in it? he's also requested a melt-and-pour glycerine soap kit. any other ideas?
I like the book idea, it will encourage his creative growing. Off the top of my head: A kit of crafts, any sort. An educational board game. Some musical instrument, maybe you'll find a hidden talent. Educational PC software, there are lot of fun and educational games out there. A trip to a place that he likes.
other craft kits? supplies for when he is out of the kit? My son loved the Newton's kits which were a box of items that demonstrated various physics laws. he also loved archeology kits. you can also have a potlach party for him to give away some toys, or donate good ones to toy drives.
a chemistry set with all the chemicals!!!! this was my favorite present ever when I was a kid. also my mom would always get me 'grown up' art supplies like the water colors in he tubes and all the masking fluid and stuff oh and clothes. those were the presents I dug when i was a kid that would be suitable for boys too.
encouraging learning and kits type projects are great. i recieved lots of stuff like that. soap kits can be fun as well as candle kits or books on homemade recycling projects.
