Live in Eugene, born and raised, but I'm somewhat of a nomad so I can't wait to leave a start trekking the world again.
my cousin tommy lived in portland for a while. he didnt like it much so he moved up to tacoma, he really likes it there though.
To be perfectly honest (I've done a lot of traveling in my day and I'm only 19) pretty much everywhere in the states it very similar. Granted Eugene is probably more chill than most cities and Portland is probably more progressive than most big cities, but with the Federal government having as much power as it does it can and does override any state laws that contradict a Federal law in any way. So laws are pretty much the same, the people are somewhat different (materialism is huge in the states, not everyone but most). The only place in the states I've been that was more different than anywhere else would have to be New Orleans, and that's not eve all that different. (I only say that because of the mixed Spanish and French culture that is present.) So, would you love it....well I can't say for sure, I'd have to know what you enjoy in terms of surrounding atmosphere etc...
I think Eugene is great. I think it's exactly because places are really very similar that you have to look at the smaller differences. The...vibe...in Eugene makes me happy, so this is where I stay. I have also traveled a great deal, in and out of the states, and lived in Phoenix, AZ for a year. Eugene is a great place to be....good mix of people, great personality.
