Show me a pic of what YOU consider perfect dreads.

Looking through the various threads, I can see that there are many opinions on what perfect dreads look like. So, please post a pic of what you think are perfect dreads, and explain why.

I am asking this, not because I have not seen the various pic-threads, but because I would like to know WHY you think they are perfect. For example, I once brought a friend to a horseshow, and at first she had no clue why one horse won over another, but once I explained about the shape of the head, heigth of the tail etc etc, she understood- so I'm hoping to learn likewise about why some dreads are considered more perfect than others- is it simply a matter of taste or are there some common criteria?

 

IMO my dreads are perfect, I don't want them to look like anyone else's, they're unique and I love it. You seem very...Unsure with what you want. Let it go. Your dreads aren't going to look like anything except how they want to look.

 

I'm inclined to agree with hdh, I'm pretty sure my locks are perfect as well. There are lots of dreads on the net that I really like, but I wouldn't describe them as perfect, just look good, i.e any set of dreads that don't look too maintained and are clean.

 

Not unsure, just looking for inspiration Especially on long dreads, since my hair reaches below my bum *lol*

Many noobs get burned because well, they're going to get burned a hell of a lot more in real life and we just try and toughen 'em up to prepare for the shit. Some noobs see it as personal and storm off crying, never to return, other noobs fit in just fine.

I've never had shit in real life except my bosses husband calls me "dogshit" instead of my name because apparently my hair looks like it. Actually the other day my boss goes:

"omg this woman with dreads walked past the pub and I thought it was you then I realised that it wasn't you because you don't have shitty looking dreads" I lol'd.

I agree with Merrivale though, things are dead calm here now

Yeah I think that's why someone made the inspiration thread! Tons of photos in there to look at, and photos of dreads that people like.

I don't think my dreads are perfect YET!! but it is what it is for the age that they're at.. I know in Time when the tips finally dread they will be perfect to me

Yes, the inspirational thread is great- it is the reason why I started this one, because I was curious why people thought certain dreads were perfect, as there were so many different styles. Pics I can google, I was looking for why.

These are more perfect looking to me because it looks like instead of "werking" his dreads he was probably working to care for his family (he could have been robbing families for all I know but I give him the benefit of the doubt).

 

I don't call him anything, Unless people talk smack and mean it about me, I don't do anything, huge practicer of karma. I just roll my eyes because it's getting boring, incredibly boring talking to people about my hair. I refuse to sit around and talk about dreads with anyone, including people with dreads. I run away from the masses of dreadlocks in Exeter city centre, especially when some doped up waxy headed greenpeace people are chasing me wanting money.

Anyway my original comment still stands I find my dreads perfect, I want anyone elses. Sure, I will post pics I find for the inspiration thread that people may like, but I don't think anyone's dreads as nice as mine. With the exception of Merrivale.

That's not to say I'm big headed, I just think that people suit only the dreads what's on their head. I love people posting pics of their dreads and I love them but I wouldn't want anyone elses hair. Sorry for teh essay
