I thought i knew most techniques and methods about dreadlocks and keeping them good, untill someone mentioned root flipping in some other thread and ive not heard of it before and it appeared it was common knowledge. that and there aren't any threads about it at all. so... to clear it up. what is root flipping? and how does it work and what does it do?
If it hasn't been done much it wont cause much damage will it? I'm pretty sure some of mine were root flipped once when they were first backcombed.
if it only happened once i wouldn't worry about it too much. don't do it a lot. with just one flip you'll just get a weird texture at that part of the dread. too much and it fucks it up.
When it grows out, it looks weird...if you want to keep your roots knotty, just root rub if you have to..best just to leave the hair alone
root flipping binds the hair where it is straight, so that hair will not lock like the rest. Pg 6 Post 57 http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=347519&highlight=stick+your+head&page=6
It was I that brought up root flipping in another thread. Root flipped dreads look awful. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
woahhh, looks like really fucked up rope or something... but i quite like it. wont be doing it though. cheers for the help btw.
