When I do mushrooms I live by four rules - 1) The cap white but has a purplish tinge to it )2 The gills are gray 3) the skirt around the stem is gray and 4) It is growing directly out of a cow patty.
There are many others that are "magic" - but I am talking about the ones I feel comfortable with.

 

and when the stem is broken it turns purple- dead give away. They sometime have orange nipples. lol. Well, Cubies do.

there is no color change give away positive id on any type of mushrooms. rule of thumb. just cause it changes color dont mean its edible or psychedelic..
