so i started my first grow a while back (about four months ago) with four plants outside.
when my plants grew to about 6 inches tall, i moved them indoors. two didn't make it, so i was left with two plants. i grew both in homemade humidity chambers sitting in a window. it worked pretty damn well.
when they got to about a foot tall (app. 1 month in) i took them out of the chambers and put them in bigger pots. they've been growing in these pots for about 3 months now, and are both pretty healthy looking.
i topped both when i took them out of the humidity chambers, also.
but after almost 5 months of growing, i'm hopin i can get them to flower soon. im not particularly grow-savy, considering this is my first grow, but i know i need to change the light cycle my plants get to make them flower.
my queston is.. since they're been growing from sunlight in a window(they don't get constant direct light all day obviously) how should i go about changing the light cycle to make them flower? should i cover them in bags to block out the light for a certain amount of time or what? im lost. lol.
help if you can. any advice is good for a noob.

oh, and ive been using nutes too. up until about2 weeks ago i would occasionaly feed them with a phosphorus-rich liquid fert. recently ive used a nitrogen high fert (cus i want them to flower)
i have pics i can post, too.

The easiest option would be to just wait until the seasons change and daylength drops to 12 hrs or below...as long as there is no ambient light in the house.

Covering them or moving them into a basement is another option. But, you'll have to be diligent about doing it twice a day.

Its pretty hard to control lighting/no suffocate your blanks in black bags, and still get enough light to flower on a window. If I were you, I'd probably just move them into a remote location outside and let the seasons do their work.

hmmm.. moving them outside where i live is a risky op..
i might try to just move them out of the light. what times do you think they should be in the light and away from it?

If its risky for them outside, its probably risky for them on the window.

Just moving them out of the direct light will not work. Even light creeping under a closet door has messed with grows.

Flouros are an option, but you'd need a lot of them and they won't give you good light penetration. Your plants are pretty big for a flouro grow. HID lights would be best, but then the complexity and exspense keep going up.

With indoor MJ growing, you pretty much get what you put into it. Throwing some seeds in a dome and growing them out on a window isn't going to net you much in most cases. Throwing them under flouros at this poinnt probably won't get you much either. Flouro grows usually have to be well designed and planned to be worthwhile.

IMHO, the risk of getting caught/investment vs potential yield from anything other than trying to move them outside is not worth it. With 2 unsexed plants, no real light cycle, and little investment, you are unlikely to yeild anything meaningful.

they're still plants, and they'll still have a yield, regardless of how much i invest in them.
way to try and put me down, but it's not really working.
in the end of my grow ill post pics of the yield.
thanks for the advice, though. haa.

if anyone else has any ideas, replyy.

Well, that wasn't meant to be a put down. Sorry if your feelings were hurt, but you need to know the difference between advice and a put down. Take the advice or leave it, but grow some thicker skin.

Maybe you shouldn't be counting your eggs before they hatch or whatever the saying is. You still need to figure a way to get the light cycles right, make sure you actually have females, then you need to not kill your plants before they mature(its easier than it may sound to screw up).

So, chill the F***out. Your attitude just shows how big of a noob you are. People who are confident in their abilities tend to say little and do alot.

Seriously, good luck on your grow. I do hope it works out. Post a pic of a decent yield, and I'll be the first one to give you an e-slap on the back for a job well done.

Who said i was growing weed? ;)
And it just kinda sucked how you tried to say i'm not gonna get a good yie;d or whatever, ahimsa. They're healthy plants, maybe a little stressed, but they'll still yield something.
I dont have a bad attitude, or i would have bitched you out. And i never said my 'feelings' were hurt. I'm perfectly fine, actually.
I'm thinking I'm just going to wait it out until they flower on their own. I'll just have to be patient. :coffee:
