no, I am not even thinking about it. I just read that a guy jumped off the empire state building. fell 80 floors to his death. I wonder what he was thinking for them 80 floors.
Man Dies in Empire State Building Leap 2 hours, 30 minutes ago U.S. National - AP NEW YORK - A man jumped to his death Friday from the 86th-floor observation deck at the Empire State Building, one of Manhattan's busiest tourist destinations, police said. The apparent suicide forced police to briefly close the landmark on Fifth Avenue to tourists in New York for the holiday weekend. AP Photo The man apparently climbed over a security fence that encloses the observation deck before leaping off. He hit a landing on the sixth floor, where he died instantly, police said. No identification was found on his body. At least 31 other people have committed suicide at the Empire State Building since it opened in 1931. More than 3.8 million people visit the tourist attraction each year, according to the building's Web site. It is 1,454 feet to the top of the Empire State Building's lightning rod.
poor bugger, what if changed his mind on the way down, or even worse - see that bit on the start of the film magnolia, that is some shitty luck.
why do you think they added that last bit to the article? he jumped from well below the lightning rod, aND hit 6 floors above the ground. useless data.
It's CNN.... give them a break... useless data is their specialty. Nice leap though...I personally think that it's so much nicer to jump off the empire state, such a public statement...
krrrrrrplat went the little green bug krrrrrrrplat went the little green bug! sorry but after I read this thread this little song came to my mind..
I am guessing what did I do crossed his mind. any of you mathmatical geniuses out there wanna calculate for me how long it took?
I have always heard (dont know if its true) that jumpers will have a heart attack before actually hitting the ground.
no rejoice, this what he wanted!!!!! If a window washer fell 80 stories to his/or death, that would be sad. Oh wait, was he a reletive or friend, because I would feel callous if he was. The loss of some one you love is always sad. But a perfect stranger....halarious.
