You know a lot of people with all this new fangled technology have been filming the police doing fucked up things. In response, 3 states have already, and more are working on, making it illegal to film the police without their consent.
That is pretty screwed. Getting picked up for something like you did and getting a beat-down over it isn't right at all. One little bit of advice, stay the fuck out of trouble and don't go out drunk or drink in public again. The report said you got busted for the same thing after this happened. You are now in their headlights and if you get arrested or anything it just makes your case weaker. I don't want to sound like a complete ass, but if they have a case against you pending AND you have a case against the city police pending but can't keep yourself out of trouble, you're not going to get much sympathy. That is what the police are counting on, for you too fuck up again. If they can show that public drunkenness is a common occurrence with you, it just strengthens their case and casts doubt upon your version of events. Hope it works out in your favor and stay out of trouble.
thanks guys. The police are actually saying that i beat my own face on the cell bars. Which is a complete lie. I know exactly which two sheriff deputies it was, there was even a third female deputie included who watched it all happen. I also have an eye witness who heard me getting beaten and saw me dragged around the lockup. I'm actually lucky to be alive, or to still have my right eye, i was left with no medical attention for like 11 hours after my face ended up like that. Don't police have protocols or something when someone is out of control? Stun gun, or spit bag maybe.....i know your not supposed to just beat the crap out of them. I have hospital bills up the ass now. I've heard stories where the deputies at city lockup have beat people to death...then the head sheriff deputies covers it up. I believe it to. The corruption in the sheriffs department is TERRIBLE. A female deputee in my city was arrested for DUI, which they let her continue it like 7 or 8 times...she ended up crashing into the city hospital wall in a car with a prisoner in the back. She died.
well, the case could be used as a front for protest against federal control of substance use, and violence. but that's assuming people aren't so droned out from their life that they are awake enough to be able to support a cause.
What like the whole Rodney King incident and the protests that started. Yeah, that worked out really well, didn't it. You see (I'm gonna be an asshole, so be prepared) for any type of effective protest to be mounted in such an incident, it really helps if the person that got beaten were actually innocent of the charges, (which hasn't been determined yet) at least to some degree. By his own admission on the news report he isn't. Second getting busted for the same type of offense again within a couple of months doesn't really help to garner a whole lot of community support. Otherwise it's really fucking hard to take the higher moral position regardless of how wrong, corrupt, and fucked up the police department involved is. That was one of the things the community in LA didn't get. The police involved in the Rodney King beating were douche bags for sure, but Rodney King was/is a disgusting, multiple felony offender and just a general all around piece of shit. I don't even know how many more times that turd got arrested for the same type of shit that got him beaten in the first place. Now some of you might take what I'm saying the wrong way. I'm not in favor of police brutality, but if you want to get support for your case and start a grassroots type protest surrounding it, then don't be so fucking stupid as to CONTINUE THE ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR THAT GOT YOU IN TROUBLE IN THE FIRST PLACE! Honestly Vontae I feel for your situation and was 100% behind you until I heard you got busted for the same shit AFTER this happened and then you make some lame ass remark to the reporter "Drinkin make you do crazy stuff" . I just shook my head and muttered "idiot". Again I am not saying that if the police beat you it is ok or that they were justified in doing it. But shit dude, use the sense God gave you and I hope your nice mother tried to teach you. Well let us know on July 17 how it all went. Good luck. I said I was going to be an asshole.
I don't want to start a protest or revolt or anything. I just want the officers to be charged with something, or lose their jobs or something. ffs, their still working at the same lockup. Probably still beating the shit out of people that comes in there drunk hollering, and cursing at them. I'll admit, i really did fuck up with the second drunk in public charge. I regret it, but i have to live with it...it already happened. The charges their hitting me with are ridiculous. Assault again a law enforcer for spitting...( unintentionally ). They just did that to justify beating me down.
I honestly believe that's the true reason also. I was just wanting you to realize like I said before, they are watching you now so you really need to keep your nose clean until this is over, then watch back for a while after. The more they can bust you for shit, no matter how petty, it only hurts YOU and your case. Not only that but your community has one eye on you now as well. Don't mess up any more. If you want to party STAY INDOORS. :cheers2:
Your right PB SMith....I've got to stay out of any kind of trouble ( definitely shouldn't be a problem ) cause i'm in the headlights now.
Having problems locating the video on the wtvr site. Maybe I'm just missing it - can you hone me in a little?
That says it all... they're not going to address the issue of cops doing fucked up things- just make it illegal for people to gather proof rendering such proof inadmissible in any court case... and if there's no visual proof their position will be that it didn't happen.
you need to scroll through the little banner below the video window and its "man gets beaten" or something like that.
You're on the right track... we do need to become more involved and vigilant. A lot of inexcusable shit has gone down- enabled by our collective inattention.
uhhh i was thinking more along the lines of slashed tires, bricked windows, and molotov cocktails. your not going to get anything done with protests. might as well piss a few of these pinheads off.
