Last night I had one of the stranger dreams I've had in awhile. I dreamt I was having some sort of college graduation party at my house with a bunch of people I knew from high school. It was a mix of males and females and chairs circled around our living room. This is strange already as I rarely have anyone over to my parents house so the festivities didn't make much sense. Nothing really exciting happened it just kind of went on til we all took a moment of silence and then people started running out the house crying. The scene then kinda shifted to nighttime outside and me hanging out witw few females and one other guy and I told them I have to check my work schedule. We were still outside my house although it looked slightly different than usual. So I went to the house and hovered above the ground I decided to go by the backdoor as I didn't want some people to know I could fly. I ran into the arm of this really tall guy who had a beer box over his head and appeared pretty much out of it besides that. I tried to push through but he wouldnt let go and then I tried to go back and he wouldnt let go. I thought I was going to miss work and struggled to break free for a bit longer but couldnt and then woke up.
Wow. That is one unusual dream. I've been journaling my dreams for a while now, and it seems like when I have a weird dream, it's not something to take literally. A house is often a symbol in dreams. It can be a symbol of yourself. Perhaps the dream doesn't mean anything about having people over to your parents' house, but it represents how these people are a part of your life. Because this is a graduation party, it sounds like you are facing a crossroads in your life. Maybe you are facing a college or other graduation in your waking life, maybe you are thinking about moving to another town or maybe you are considering a new job or some other big change in your life or some combination of these things. The moment of silence almost sounds like someone has died, especially with so many people crying. I wouldn't jump to any conclusions here. I think that it's possible that you're going to be separated from people you spend lots of time with now. The part of the dream about flying is my favourite part. Flying seems like it's always a good thing. It means that you are much more capable than you thought you were. Why would you not want people to know you could fly? Are you worried they might not be able to handle it? How you feel about this has a lot to do with what your dream means. You had to check your work schedule. How you feel about work has something to do with the meaning of the dream. What does the guy with the beer box represent to you? Is he someone you know? Are you worried that something might keep you from working or getting ahead in your job or career?
Some of this you are spot on with. I just graduated college and am looking for a new job. I am currently employed as well though. I am fairly shy and introverted, except on these forums but that may be why I didn't want some people to know I could fly. There is a friend who I got in a fight with recently and I don't think her and I will be hanging out much anymore so maybe that's the moment of silence. As far as the people in the house I haven't seen them for years, so random to me. The guy with the beer box on his head I dunno he seemed really droning and like non human at the time, it was really strange no one in particular. Does the beer box aspect represent anything maybe? Some sort of peer pressure representation? I have no clue regarding dream intrpretation just trying to connect .
The beer box aspect could indeed represent peer pressure. The real question is what it represents to you. Different things in a dream will mean different things to different people. It all depends on how you feel about it. Because the guy with the beer box seemed so out of it and wouldn't let you get past him, one possibility is that he represents alcohol. Of course, this is only one possible interpretation.
