arf arf... feckin' ARF man!!! are they for REAL??? they get airtime? O.M.G.... and theres me thinking nothing could shock or disturb me anymore....
nice! I really honestly think it is funny when in reali life, people actually think they are shamans, when theya re like 17 years old. and have never even met an native american shaman before. LOL the video was funny. I like it, though it was an spoof. I hate when people call me an shaman, my husband, did that on accident when we first met, and I told him, nope I am not, I just believe in shamanic ways, and practice some of that, but that doesnt make me a shaman.

why do they have to meet a native american shaman? shamanism is a worldwide phenomena that seems to surface quite independantly of anything... some 17 year olds have more wisdom than people who are older...
I know there is shamans all over teh world. I am just making an example. of someone who claims to be an shaman but yet has no training, and hasnt even met one, is a little presumptious dont you think?
Hmm. Well, considering that there are no 'Native American Shamans' per se, that that is actually only the name of the spirit workers of a particular tribal group in Siberia, one has to decide on a definition of the word. Outside that limited reference, shaman refers more generally to a very general variety of spirit worker, a style of practice that sprung up independently in very similar fashions all over the world. Although most 'shamans' in most cultures learn a portion of their craft from their elders, it also seems that in most cases a large amount of the craft is learned directly from the spirits themselves. Seeing as shamanism arises naturally, on it's own, just about everywhere, and is taught in part by spirits(if you believe in such things), it doesn't seem odd to me at all that someone who's never met a real live shaman might become a shaman themselves. It's a path and a practice, not a specific skillset.
