hiya just had a few questions about synthetic dreadlocks ive had them before but just sort of let them hang naturally or tied them up. ive now got them back in and doing pretty much the same.. is there styles i can do? i just wanna have a bit of a play with them but have no idea what to do! also... ive noticed other people have this as well.. they do go a little frizzy and i guess thats because they are synthetic.. anything i can do for frizz control?! its not BAD at the moment but just incase? thanks
and ive thought about having real dreads before but i always change my hair from style to style... so i just couldnt keep it that way what do you mean you dont want to miss this?
hey come off it im asking if theres any tips, isnt that what forums are for, helping out no need for taking the piss is there
I see the problem here Give it to your cat.. cats love that sorta shit This is gonna sound a little bit 'zaney' but its a trick my aunt taught me take them out... and bundle them up with a piece of twine. fill up a large dish with 1/3 - chilli sauce 1/3 - hair conditioner 1/3 - goats milk ontop of this place 2 seeded cherries and a signed picture of Oprah Winfrey. now what you want to do is pour about 300ml bottle of lighter fluid over the top of this. NOW LIGHT THE THING ON FIRE BECAUSE SYNTHS ARE SHIIIIIIIITT you're welcome
cheers guys :/ suppose to be able to help people the reason i have synthetic is like i said before.. i change my hair alot.. i wanted real dreads for a while but couldnt just stick to one style.. at the end of the day everyones different and like different things.. so why slate them for it... thats pathetic.
to be horrible to someone over the internet is really quite lame.. considering ive only just joined as well, havnt caused any trouble just asked if anyone could help..
Oh dear the 'dreadlock elitists' have come out to play....... There are lots of styles you could have, mine are getting quite long so I put them in a bun or you could have 2 buns,1 on each side of your head? You could do them neat or with ends sticking out,I think both ways look nice I guess if you have synthetic dreads then wax might keep the frizz down but it does feel a bit nasty and Im not sure if it would even work on them as its a different texture to real hair.Maybe give it a go if your paranoid bout it but Im guessing from a distance you prob cant tell you've got frizz. You just notice it because you see it everyday Hope that helps somewhat.........
hey thanks for that i might give the wax a go on the ends just to test it out and see how it goes. as for the bun, ive seen it does but im not totally sure how to do it with the dreads but il try it out
Just kinda make small ponytail at the back of your head with a few dreads and fold the ponytail dreads in on itself so its like a stubby tail. Then take all the leftover individual dreads and wrap around the base of the ponytail and tuck the ends in as you go.The end result will/should resemble a bun and the best thing is you nmeed no grips, just a hair bobble. Does that make sense?
don't mind some of the knobs on here, I can help! some of mine are synthetic so i know all about them gurrr, so if they're frizzt coat them in a thin layer of wax and use straightening irons on them. Don't leave them on for too long, just run them over and roll them after wards for styles I like to bunch mine up into a big ball and cover with scarves tied into bows and flowes stay around! It's good to have a mix of all different types of dreads on here
