    This comment was humorous:

"I am glad that we moved to New Zealand where my son, 9, can climb trees in his school playground, still play conkers without wearing a Kevlar flack jacket, full face bullet proof visor and a crash helmet and also one of the gym games they play just happens to be British Bulldog with a different name. So he is able to enjoy the type of childhood I had before the (un-elected) HSE started to spread its idiotic laws, rules and regulations everywhere.

Oh, and the schools have no gates and no eight foot riot fence topped with spikes and razor wire around the perimeter making them look more like a jail than a school, the kids are encouraged to go back and play on the schools outside adventure equipment and playgrounds after school, at weekends and in the holidays.

Couldn't see that being possible in the UK now, the equipment and the school would get totally wrecked, torched or both, used as a meeting place for chavs, underage drinkers, druggies and drug dealers.

    All very sad really.

"Independent child psychologist Emma Kenny analysed the results of the survey which was carried out for a soft drink company."

carried out for a soft drink company ey? Kids can't play kid games but can juice themselves up on caffeinated sludge all day.

the playgrounds around my house, are constantly vandalized. and it is really sad, bc I do not feel safe leaving my kids even for an second, bc of the people aruond here.

I can see why people would want to take their kids someone rural and let them be free and have fun, and enjoy as much as they can, before their kids grow up and have responsibilites.

Vandalism is wrong i agree, but from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am, i believe parks and playgrounds are the domain of teenagers wanting to get drunk or high in peace :D

The problem is that many teens don't get drunk 'in peace' and then other things start happening to property. :(
