My first post! A friend of mine recently told me of his trips through Salvialand, and I was very intrigued to say the least. He offered me some, although I'm not the type of person to put something in my body that I'm not totally aware of. So I abstained for the time being. I did my homework on the plant, and looked up many useful resources (these forums have also been a wealth of information for me - so thank you!) and decided that I would try my hand at the experience. I went out and purchased a water pipe (it came with a free keyring pipe too, which was cool) and then a lighter. I next needed to find some Salvia, which I did at a local convenience store - however they only had 40x. I new this was not recommended for a beginner, but I am lucky enough to have a mg scale and figured I could start small. I began with 10mg of 40x...there was nothing at all. At first, I thought I had inhaled it incorrectly (I don't smoke anything else, and hate the high you get from pot so I figured my lungs were just incapable of taking it all in). I hit it again, and again there was nothing at all. I upped the dose to 25mg, and again nothing happened - even after I hit it twice. Eventually I went to 40mg and there was still no effect. Could I have bought dodgy Salvia? or are some people just not affected by it - I didn't even feel dizzy? Is it recommended that I try the dried leaves? or is there anyway I can make a quid from the extract? Thanks for any and all responses!
I'm not sure how much 40mgs of salvia extract is... but all you need to do is smoke a decent sized bowl pack. 40x a half bowl pack should work. Torch and consume the whole bowl (or as much as your lungs can hold) in 1 big hit and hold it in as long as you can. You should use a butane/torch lighter if you have one, otherwise it may not get hot enough to release the active components. But yes, some people are more resistant to it than others, some have nothing but breakthroughs while others never pass threshold levels. But a word of advice... if you really want to do this have a sober friend with you in case you try to start walking around, you could very easily fall and hurt yourself. Also... I love taking psychedelic drugs. Fucking love it. But I did saliva twice recently and it was entirely too much for me. It actually terrified me. I wouldn't recommend it to others, but if you choose to do it just be prepared for a rough ride. Not trying to bug you out, you may love it. I sure as fuck didn't but who knows. To me, someone who likes to do psyches in high doses... salvia was just too much... too much.
thanks for the response! 40mgs is a little more than the diameter of a penny if that helps. Hmm, a butane lighter? would a BBQ lighter count? how about a zippo?
Sam stoned gave great advice ill add some. with salvia I wouldnt necessarily worry about weighing it out in mgs or trying to go for certain minimum or maximal effects, just cover the bowl maybe a quarter of the way up. Also when dealing with extracts many of the pieces are tiny and will fall into the stem bowl of your water pipe automatically or when the pressure from the heat hits it. So I recommend a smoke screen, or a tiny bit of weed or other herb to plug the stem hole. Use higher or lower extracts if your goal Is to try and control the experience somewhat .(hahaha) the point of salvia to me is to breakthrough I don't feel its something meant to attempted to work your way up because you simply can't prepare yourself for a breakthrough, its just that out there. what you say makes no sense. "40mg is like a penny"? First of all a small pile the size of a penny can have 20mg..30mg..or even 60mg in it. It depends how much fresh leaf was concentrated into the pile. Like me..I like 60X. (please..dont boar me with the standardized stuff..who's standard ? ..its a sales gimmik, get over it) Supposidly a gram of 60 X is 60grams..yes..almost 2oz..processed over and over into 1 gram. Very potent. What I got was like leafy tar and sent me on a trip ill never forget. Then 1 gram of 40X should have the same ammount of SalviamA as 40grams of leaf ..follow me? If done right..THIS IS THE STANDARD!! Yes..it may very a little but so wont the so called standardized stuff. If ya dont believe me OK..its not me who will not get what he wants out of said product. I have tried many different salvias lately and the 60X I get is light years ahead of any Red..green..or purple..or Black box (80bucks a gram) crazy stuff. Ill stick with my 60X for 31bucks. If you dont believe me try it before you just say im full of it. This is only my opinion based on about a month of buying and smoking from several sources. This is still a work in progress. From what I've expierienced..if it isn't sticky..it only gets me half way there. Im about to try the 40X which is only a little stronger (actually about equal to)the purple 80mg box stuff I got from salvia zone. (BTW...you do get a lot more when it is dry.) Also remember from my trip post..I am very opiate tolarant from years of pills. But still all and all wouldnt you rather get stronger stuff and just use a bit less if it is much cheeper ? And no I dont work for s-dragon...but it is the cheepest and damn good stuff. If you hit it..held it for at least 20 seconds and felt nothing you bought crap or you are one of the 10% that cant get off on the stuff.
Haha pcgamer feel free to pm I'll point you in the right direction for good standardized stuff, its way cheaper too. I haven't had 60x and I don't plan on it I don't need it ive gotten higher on 10 standardized then 20x regular. don't be jaded man.
Yeah, the butane flame is necessary and you need to keep the flame to the material the entire time you inhale. Inhale to your maximum capacity in one solid hit and hold it in 'til you feel like you're gonna pass out. Exhale and throw your balls out the window. I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said except good fucking luck! Salvia is some brutal shit. I might do it ONE more time in my lifetime, but it won't be anytime soon.

Salvia 60x is the strongest extract commonly available for sale. Salvia 60x extract contains 150 milligrams of Salvinorin-A per gram of extract. It is six times as strong as salvia 10x extract. You typically won’t find large quantities of salvia 60x for sale. It is usually sold in one gram bags. The same stuff...whats to think about ???? I have bought both and they are about the same strength...just way different prices. You may save me some money but not no $85
because the first link is salviazone...it is standardized. The store that sold it to me said standardized is the way to go..and Salviazone is what they sold me. But you have a point on the other side of the coin..it dont say standardized anywhere...hmmmm??? I said it didn't say extract anywhere but it doesn't say standardized either. here's what it means and I'm not in disagreement with you that there are probably some complete phonies and rip offs in the buisness but when it says simply 10x, 20x, or 60x its just that's the highest concentration extract they spray on the regular leaf but it does not have to be even at all so you are technically not getting 60 grams worth of material. When its a 10x standardized extract or 20x standardized extract its spread out evenly across the material at that suggested extract so you would be getting an actual 20 grams worth of material. Your 60x for that price is a good deal though. Some places are a complete ripoff but maybe you can see why it would cost extra for standardized when it takes probably some extra time, money, and tools to measure the strength of the individual leaves.
