For the past couple of months now I've been having trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. It usually takes me an hour or more to fall asleep, then when I do I wake up around 3 a.m. and then again periodically through the morning. I eat very healthy...no junk...very little processed foods. What are some natural home remedies that can help me fall asleep and stay asleep?

Lavender, camomile, passion flower and Valerian are all good herbs to promote sleep.

Traditional chinese medicine have about 6000 herbs to help sleep, so you could try there too.

in addition to tipsygypsy lemon balm as well. Having really low b12 also can make it difficult to sleep. you feel tired but sleep is hard. make sure you are getting enough good well rounded natural foods in you diet even if youo eat really healthy sometimes you can be missing something . my sis had the same problem she tried teas etc. and still couldn't sleep we got her b12 up and she said it helped a lot, she sleeps well.

    • Drink some warm milk before bedtime

    • Eat magnesium-rich foods
    • Have a bedtime snack

    • Relaxation Techniques
      1. Mindfulness - A type of meditation that essentially involves focusing on your mind on the present. Learn mindfulness.
      2. Yoga combines deep breathing, meditation, and stretching. A Harvard study found that daily yoga for eight weeks improved total sleep time, the time to fall asleep. If you've never tried yoga before, not to worry. There are many gentle yoga styles to choose from.
