I understand an American team will be playing a British team at soccer, only y'all think it's football, or something...And I would not have given a damn, till I saw this I like sex a hell of a lot more than either soccer or football, or even baseball, so if my getting laid frequently contributes in any way to a British victory, I'll take one for the team.
I was listening to the news on the way home, and they were yakking about it again.....this whole thing must be some kind of propoganda plot put out by BRITISH Petroleum to take air time away from the debacle in the Gulf....they said this was a rematch from the 1950 World Cup, but I missed the part where they mentioned the score. How bad did y'all whup us that time?
God knows if i'm honest the English football team isn't really that good, you may have a fighting chance now.
Argh, already sick of hearing about the World Cup and England hasn't even played their first game. I'd laugh hysterically if somehow the US actually managed to pull off a win. But I highly doubt that will happen. The US does not seem to take Football (in their case soccer) that seriously. So, sadly, even after Sunday, this Football discussion will continue I'm sure. *sighs*
Basketball=constant, exciting action by 2 to 300 lb grown men flying up and down the court with instant results. Soccer=ooooo-here they come and--ooo--there they go and--ooo-here they come and--ooo-there they go and---ooo-and here they come and--ooo--------well,you-all get the idea. Watching "football" is like jackin' off and stopping before you come, over and over again. I'd rather watch my laundry go 'round in the dryer and concoct little stories about what my shorts are doing to my T-shirts.
Please pass whatever memo you received onto our Prime Minister. Something must have seriously gone wrong
Haha, I hate football, so yes. I was jibbing, but if you can somehow persuade the English to like something else, I beg of you to try I am an American sports fan myself, I have to subscribe to ESPN. I like to basketball as well as the hockey for the same reason as you mentioned, the intensity and speed in which things happen.
I think the score on that occasion was USA...1 England...0, which was a major shock at the time. It wouldn't be quite so suprising if it was repeated this time round. I quite like football [soccer to you], in fact I attend maybe 25 - 30 games during the season, but I have to say international football in general leaves me cold, and I only have a hazy idea of who's playing who in the World Cup. Not to mention all the pseudo-patriotism being generated. Times like this, I start to wish I'd bought shares in a flag-and-general-crap-nationalistic-ephemera manufacturing company.
I'm looking at the fine print...the press consistently refers to the English team. Are there also Scottish & Welsh national teams? Did I step on toes by calling the English team British?
We all have teams, but the English team is the best by a long shot. Wales really suck, and Scotland, although better, aren't very good either.
Wait Till The Flock Hear About This, Twill Be No Orgasmic Bleats From Your Favourite Ewe Tonight Young Man . Cheers Glen.
