I bet its the more refined oil that burns better.

there are different levels of hydrocarbons in the crude, when its refined, I think its called cracking , where its heated at different temperatures. The sun beating on it can change it consistency and make it more flammable also.. more so on ground, id believe.

Well then I guess the joint chiefs have no other choice but to order colonel glover to release trioxin into morgues and cemeteries throughout the country to create the only army capable of dealing with this new mutated alien horde [IMG]

Look for the Darrow Chemical Company stock to soar

I have a feeling there will be a helluva fire after they finally get the leak under control.

I'll probably be able to see the smoke from Canada.

You probably could; just a couple of weeks ago here in New England we could see the smoke from those wildfires in northern Quebec and that’s hundreds of miles away. [IMG]

We infrequently get smoke from Canadian forest fires in Maryland.

    Also;

Sea water is naturally radioactive. There is enough energy in a gallon of sea water to power Kirstie Alley's George Foreman Grill for an entire day.

Are you certain about that?

I figure the only thing that could satisfy Kirstie's hunger are a few Brontosaurus burgers

what does it take for people to put two and two together? nations kill for oil and oil companies tell them to kill anyone who stands in their way, because of the huge profits in it that exist ONLY because people are emotionally attached to the idea of driving cars.

yes, oil is used for other things too. but that's what is generating the demand that is motivating the destruction of the planet.

and yes, i know a lot of people NEED cars, but ONLY because a majority has been conned into supporting having our infrastructure and the expectations of our culture set up that way.

and why? i'm not convinced its about most people liking to drive, unless they don't realize they've made themselves slaves to keeping their cars drivable. more likely the banks, for whom the car loan is a major cash cow, want to keep it that way, and not think about everything that goes into keeping them car dependent.

cars represent freedom. How else could we get 60 miles in one hour?

lovely myth. it sure keeps the sheep enslaved to them.

planes and trains would both do that easily if their infrastructure were properly designed and maintained to do so. which they aren't because the support isn't there for doing so. which is because people are emotionally sold on the myth of the car.

slaving half one's life to keep the damd things running, either directly, or to pay someone else to do so, isn't exactly my idea of freedom.

freedom is when you DON'T have to go 60 miles in one hour twice a day just to survive.

I don't know if you realize this but there are a bunch of farms that raise fish for consumption. Also a lot of America's shrimp and such comes from Korea.

I just hope it gets cleaned up fast those poor pelicans and such.:(

I never had to drive to do my day to day duties except for the fact that I was a pizza delivery driver for three years. I coulve been an insider. Ive never really worked more than two miles from home, so transportation could have been my feet or my bicycle if need be.

Freedom is being able to drive five hours to Gatlinburg. without a car I couldnt get there in any reasonable amount of time. so i guess im not DEPENDANT on my car, i just ENJOY it.

Hitch, served me well for the last 3 years. Here Ive never had to wait more than 20 minutes. Although I imagine people are a lot less trusting there with the size of the gaff :D

I wouldnt be able to pay for a car even if I wanted one. Although if I plan on coming back here then I wont need one anyway.

Might have to gt a van though [IMG]

it isn't going to be 'fixed'. they'll arrive at some point of semi-stabalization, and then corporate controlled media will try to tell everyone to go home and its fixed, except there won't be any domestically harvest fish in the stores.

as for already drilling, it isn't will, it still IS. new platforms continue to be approved, enforcement of preventative precautions is still somewhere between lax and non existent. and there's an even bigger, five times bigger, rig, run by the same bp oil company, with the same cutting of corners on safety, accident waiting to happen, not even interrupted in its operation at all.

there is a percentage of people, mostly young people, who do enjoy driving, and maintaining, them. that's fine.
as an excuse for forcing everyone else to have to depend upon either having one, or bumming rides from someone who does, that's not so fine at all.

without a car you COULD get there IF there was a REAL transportation infrastructure, which people are conned out of supporting by the myth of equating ostentation with freedom.

which, at any rate, is still WHY oil spills and wars for oil happen.
