Compleatly sober. It was pretty fucking awesome. I just expected music and eyecandy.. but it actually wrenched my heart a bit. Good call
Its a pretty deep movie. It definitely captures a lot of different emotions. I've probably seen it too many times to count, considering my entire family is made up of pink floyd fanatics. (I love them, but man, my parents live by them) But the parts about his dad dying in the war always hit close to home for some reason, they still do.
Was too slow and boring for me -- and that's really saying something, seeing how many of Coppola's movies I've seen.
Watch it while tripping Any psychedelics would work, but it was made for acid trips, and that shit gets CRAZY!!!
Ha, it is a good one my friend! Try getting tickets, Roger water is performing the wall live this year. First time in 30 years, probably the last as well. Roger's gettin pretty old, 67 i think? The tickets are crazy expensive, but sooo worth it. Ill be at the Washington DC show.
meh the first few times I watched a few years ago it I didn't think it was special... but as I got older and watched it again I was able to understand the symbolism much more throghouly.
I agree and I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan and I think it really does a disgrace to the actual album, I saw it on shrooms.
album wise, I think dark side of the moon is by far their best album... though they have great songs on every album (except after the final cut, the momentary lapse of reason was HORRIBLE)
You JUST saw it? Whaaaaaa, I watched that movie for the first time when I was like 12. It was truly amazing and is still one of my favorite movies ever. I recommend you watch it a couple more times and you get into the story even more.
Idk.. Dark side of the moon is a great album, but it got kinda old to me a while ago. It's still great, but i don't listen to it much. I'm not really a fan of a momentary lapse of reason eiher tho, as of right now (it changes every few months) my favorite album is either wish you were here or animals.
yeah, but everyone forgets their early albums too - piper at the gates of dawn, ummagumma, meddle, obscured by clouds. it's really interesting to see how much the evolution of their sound - it's a shame what happened to syd, considering he was the mastermind behind PATGOD, and he was only 20 when he recorded it.
It's almost like you can't compare the Syd era to the rest of the Pink Floyd albums. I love it in an equal but different way. Like parents love their children (unless they're lying and they really do have favorites, but I digress...).
yeah well their early albums right after syd left still tried to replicate the sound that was on the first album, with some songs being very similar, and then they soon branched off into multiple diverse sounds.
Piper at the Gates of Dawn is pretty interesting. but it's a very different group from the later one. As for 'The Wall' - it's best stoned.
Ummagumma is terrible, it should be forgotten. It sounds like a band completely lost in direction. Thank god some genius decided to make 1/2 of it a live album to make the suckyness seem less sucky.
