Forrest Gump

I am wondering why nobody has mentioned yet the greatest movie of all times: Forrest Gump. Although it can be classified as a comedy, I think it is a romance as well. Anyone here that has his or her life changed because of that movie?

 

Eh...every movie Tom Hanks is in he does that shitty, poor southern accent. Just saying. Good movie though. Gary Sinise (don't know how to spell his last name, don't really care) was great in that movie. It was so sad when Bubba died I also always thought it was funny when he, as a kid, mocks that man who was humping his mom. That heaving noise. lol

 

One of the greatest soundtracks of all time. Best modern tall tale.

I would hardly consider it the best movie ever, as Lieutenant Dan completely stole the show.

Apollo 13? I remember falling asleep through that at the movies. Forest Gump though I remember not falling asleep. =D

Nah, I can get where it could be 'too technical' or 'too dry' for some -- but it just avoids melodrama and sucks all it can out of very lifelike suspense

 

But it was sooo boooooring.

Some movies aren't about being exhilarated, they're about capturing an experience. Sometimes you have to just give yourself up to a movie, and not just wait for it to excite you.

I loved Apollo 13. One of my favourite films when it came out.

john waters hasn't made a really funny movie in 30 years

and forrest gump is beneath consideration

I watched Forest 2 nights ago, beautiful movie with plenty of hippieness

I watched the beginning of A Dirty Shame and reckoned it was good, but it did seem like it could get too goofy and go downhill at any moment...

And the only one I've seen that was over 30 years ago was Pink Flamingos, that wasn't funny but it sure was something.
