It's sorta less where I went than the fact I avoided broken glass on the way into the store but on the way out I noticed glass all over the place. I realized I had walked over it on the way in and didn't feel a thing.

    Oh, Myranyaaaaa, are you there...?

    :smilielol5:

Well, considering the looks I get here in Germany, people tend to think that, too - however, reality looks different, since all the homeless bums I see over here are wearing shoes - even in the hottest of summers. :D

I use my barefooting as my personal celebration of my "weirdness" - and I'd rather be a lunatic than some mainstream fashion victim as the people are who sneer, snicker or make rude comments (mostly teenage guys running in little packs who seemingly need to boast their just-discovered testosterone and already unnerve the world with faux-ghetto hip hop talk). Actually, I couldn't care less about what those kind of people think. What makes my barefoot day is the appreciative smile, sometimes with a supportive nod, thumbs-up or peace sign flashed at me - and the perfect encounter is that of another barefoot person who thinks - like me - that it's just gorgeous (appearance) and delicious (feeling) to be barefoot.

Oh, and to stay on topic - today was my usual barefoot tour to and from the office and into the mall... :)

    Wiggling happy and bare toes,

    ~*Ganesha*~

SBL member Dave Richards was kicked out of the Long Eaton branch of Tesco earlier this year for being barefoot, but today i went shopping in the Barton Tesco and no one said anything.

I've never had a problem in my local Tesco. I'm barefoot in there regularly.

Oh, common. I'm from Belgium, which is not that different from the Netherlands. I walk barefoot the whole year round -as some others over here do too- and I do indeed get some comments. But people mostly don't understand why you're doing it. As I suppose you don't see the point of walking barefoot everywhere, or at least a lot more than you do now. If I explain to people who are really interested, they sometimes even appreciate my barefootness. I get few negative comments, even in bigger cities.
And does it really matter what people think of you if you do something you like? I hope Myranya answers to your post too, as she's from the Netherlands...

I went to get a hair cut Sat and as always I was barefoot. But to my surprise I wasnt the only barefooter there. There was a young lady barefoot. When bopth notice we were both barefoot we laughed and chatted about our experiences for a while.

I went to the lobby of my building, the laundry and the bank, no comments and not too cold only 8 ºC (46.4 ºF). Somehow the chileans don't really care and they often smile at you.

It was less where (same old places) than the fact it was mid 70's, degree wise, and raining all day. It felt really nice walking on wet grass and in lots of semi deep puddles in town. Really nice.

I went to the forest earlier this morning, It seems kinda pointless to wear shoes when its so wet, and much more welcoming to the barefoots..

It was cold and rainy here over the weekend. I ran out barefoot yesterday morning to grab coffee, etc. When I was at the Starbucks, the guy behind the counter just smiled and asked, "Too wet for shoes?" I said "Yeah" and that was it. On my way out I noticed a trail of my wet bare footprints leading into the store. There is something cool about walking across a parking lot and not worrying about stepping in a puddle! :)
