I have not watched tv in years...there is a reason why they call it the idiot box.
I just find the majority of the programs dull and the commercials insulting. If I wanna check something out I will get the DVD.

tv for the most part is shit. I enjoy TVO (my fellow canucks will know what that is) because it plays some great documentaries, interviews, and movies. I also enjoy CPAC because I can keep up with what kinda shit the man is trying to pull. Whoever said commercials are insulting was bang on. I get so mad sometimes at the sheer stupidity of commercials and how they treat you like a fucking mentally defect ape.

 

Definitely, but I think the root of the problem may be misogynism. Everything is designed to promote "the conqueror." AKA anti-spirituality. Buy, buy, buy...try to be huge...that's what all women want...blah, blah, blah. Some girls follow suit, others don't. But that's the media for you.
