When you read about any of them it is frightening what a person can do and justify it to themselves. Rather like watching a train wreck.

What is really disturbing is how many of them have almost a cult following of admirers.

Brian Nichols is my favorite. He's not really a "serial" killer, per se, but still a badass motherfucker who killed a judge, a court reporter, a cop, and a federal agent during his escape from an Atlanta courthouse.

Yes. The tabloid TV shows often do a show about women (and men) who are attached to people like serial killers, big time bank robbers, etc. I think psychologists have a name for that type of personality disorder. It's along the lines of women who stay with abusive lovers but an exaggerated version of it.

Dont really care for serial killers but if I had to pick it would be ed gein. From what I hear he wasnt even much of a serial killer. But digging up dead bodies in cemeteries to have a midnight dance with them and then taking them back to your house to turn the flesh and bones into chairs, plates, and other domestic items is quite resourceful.

    That's not a serial killer. That's a serial resurrectionist.

I kill a bowl of cereal each morning... sometimes I'll do in some rice... just to go against the grain. I got me a rye sense of humor.

ed gein was deffinitly fucked up, i think he was only convicted of one murder but he was known to have robbed mad graves, and had furniture in his home made of preserved body parts.
I believe buffalo bill in the anthony hopkins movie, i cant think of the name, was based on ed gein.

i heard ted bundy was a very shy and reclusive child growing up and suddenly became very ambitious and successful as an adult and was famous for his ability to maintain charismatic qualities in his murders.

i am rusty on the subject but i used to study these a bit

In fact he took a vacation from killing after he was tried & convicted of murdering two children in Watertown NY

He sat in prison for 15 years thinking of nothing else and when they finally let his sick ass out he started right-up again
